"I don't understand why they have to turn the lights off. It just adds to how scary the situation is" says Ji-yeong, with her body up against a bunk bed

"I can't even believe this is happening. What if they keep us here forever, and just kill us all?" I reply, tucking my head in between my knees.

When we got out of the "Red Light, Green Light" room, I lost Sae-byeok as people were flooding through the doors, desperate to get through. But luckily, I ran into Ji-yeong, who was just as terrified as I was.

I immediately turn my head when I hear the large doors at the front of the room open. The masked men are standing in a similar order from the last time, but now the circle men are nowhere to be seen.

"All of you have made it through the first game. Congratulations. Let me announce the results of the first game." As the square man says this, the number on the screen goes down from 456, to 201. "Out of 456 players, 255 were eliminated, and 201 players completed the first game"

"I can't believe it..over half of the players are dead." I whisper to Ji-yeong.

"Makes sense, a ton of people ran to the doors when the first men died." she whispers back

"Sir! I'm so sorry! I'll make sure I pay off my debts! I'll pay them off at all costs! Please sir! I have... a child. I haven't even registered my baby's birth because I haven't named them yet. Please let me leave!"  a woman cries. It seems like people are trying to beg themselves out of these sick games.

"Sir! I'm sorry! Please, please spare my life! I'll find a way to pay off the debts, please spare me!" another woman joins in.

Groups of people start getting onto the floor, begging to be spared. They say things like "Please spare me!" and "I'll do whatever you want!"

The square man speaks up," There seems to be a misunderstanding.  We're not trying to hurt you, or collect your debts. Let me remind you that we're here to give you a chance-"

He gets interrupted by a man in the front, "A chance? You call this a chance? You kill us while making us play a kids game. How is this a chance?"

"We may be in debt, but that doesn't mean we deserve to die!" another man calls from the crowd

"This is just a game." The square man says, showing no emotion in his voice.

"You killed all those people...yet you call this a game?!" a frantic voice yells

"They were simply eliminated for breaking the rules of the game. If you just follow the rules, you can leave this place safely with the prize money we promised."

I can't understand how this cold man is just treating hundreds of deaths as a game. Those people had reasons to survive, like I did. I promised myself that I wouldn't become one of them.

"I don't need that stupid prize money! Please just let me out!" another man cries.

"Consent from Clause 1; a player is not allowed to stop playing." the square man says

"Do you think you'll get away with everything you're doing? The police will barge in any minute now, to find us who've been missing." a man claims

people start agreeing with the man, but I have a feeling these shape men know what they're doing. "He's right. If you don't let us go, they'll locate us by tracking out phones, and come find us! Then you'll be doomed!" Someone yells

"Your done for!" another man screams

The square man raises his gun and..

"bam!"
