Chapter Thirty

           "Thanks Charlie,really appreciate it,"Maddie said to him as she took the big brown bag of food from his hands.He had gone to a nearby diner to pick up a food order for her and her friends.
Sam of course had ordered the food and payed.
"Think she's inlove with me now?"Charlie jokingly said.
"Sam?Yeah she's definitely crazy about you!"
"Right.See you Maddie,enjoy your food!"Charlie said with a smirk before walking down the steps of the cabin.
"Goodnight!"Maddie called out to him.
She was about to go inside when she noticed someone familiar walking up the steps to the cabin across from them.
Maddie put the bag of food down and ran over to him.
"Detective Waltz?!"
Chris turned around and looked at her.
"Hey sweetie,what are you doing here?!"
He was dressed in a sweatshirt,jeans, and had on a baseball cap.
He looked really cute.
Maddie tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear."I'm staying in that cabin over there!"she said pointing to it.
Chris looked over at her cabin then smiled as he looked back at her.
"Are you with your parents?"
"No,with my friends."
"Oh,really?I asked for you at the coffee shop,they told me you had some emergency?"
Maddie blushed."No,I just came here to the lake with my friends."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah."
"Are your friends okay?"
"Yeah,we're just here,having fun."
Chris nodded his head."When are you girls going back home?"
"Um,maybe Tuesday.Are you here with somebody?"
"Yeah,my girlfriend."
"Oh."
There was a small breeze making Maddie shiver a little.
It was seven at night and starting to get a little cold.
"It's getting cold sweetie,go back inside.Maybe we'll talk tomorrow after I get off work."
"You're working?"
Chris smiled."Yeah,never really have a day off.I'm on a secret mission."he winked at her.
Maddie smiled."Oh,you're a secret agent?"
Chris chuckled."Don't tell anybody."
"Well I'll go eat dinner and leave you to your secret agent stuff!"
Chris grinned."Have a goodnight sweetheart!"
"Goodnight!"Maddie waved as she turned to head back to her cabin.
It was so good to see Detective Waltz.
Maddie doesn't feel like there's any danger around the lake,but it still made her happy to see Chris.
She loved seeing the warm look in his blue eyes.

Jade smiled to herself as she watched Maddie talking to a guy near the cabin across from them.
The man was cute,not her type though.
She was surprised to see little Miss Innocent talking to a male stranger.
JD put out the cigarette she was smoking and was about to head back inside when she heard a twig snap.
She turned her head and glared at the dark blond haired woman who was standing by a tree.
She was wearing shorts and oversized grey sweatshirt.
"Why are you just standing there watching me?!"JD snapped not bothering to be polite.The woman looked like she was several years older than her.
"Oh,didn't mean to scare you,"Hailey said to her and smiled.
JD frowned."You didn't scare me!"
"Good,don't think your kind gets scared."
"Excuse me?My kind?"
"How's your mom,has she conjured up any good spells lately?"
"I don't know what you're talking about!"
"Right."
"Look b*tch----"
"Relax,relax!"Hailey put her hand up and continued to smile sweetly."I do them myself."
JD looked at her for a moment."How do you know about my mom?"
"I know about your dad,I know all about your female ancestors and what they can do!"
JD looked behind her shoulder with a worried look.
Hailey took a step closer."Don't worry Jade,I won't tell anyone."
JD was still angry."You better not b*tch,or I'll turn you into a toad!"
Hailey laughed."A toad?You can do better than that!We're going to have lots of fun here JD!"
"Who the f*ck are you anyway?"
"My name's Hailey,"she smiled again."And I'm your new,loyal,best friend!"
