a knock on the door interrupts you from watching television — so you sigh and take the remote to pause the screen. you and jimins home had a security system and it was actually security guards say in the way far front of your house.

the guys had keys, and friends had codes, who was it?

"who is it?"

a woman's voice comes from the other side of the door in a little whisper and you don't catch it. "who is it? i can't hear you."

since the twins were upstairs in their room along with minjung you go to the other side of the door and look on the security footage, mouth opening in surprise when you see mijae.

"what is she doing here." you mutter.

going back to the door quickly you open it without hesitation, looking at the five feet tall something, long black haired asian woman. "mijae?"

"y/n." mijae smiles at you.

over the years you two had talked not even an handful of times. when mijae did see you it was to pick up jae-in or possibly when jimin would give jae-in the phone with her on facetime.

"jimin and jae-in isn't here." you rock on your feet. "he and minji are at work with jimin."

"i'm not here for them." mijae says but she then backtracks her words. "wait not like that—" her eyes are of panic from thinking it came out wrong.

"i uh get what you're saying." you smile at her, "would you like to um, come in?"

"if you're okay with that sure." mijae bows her head and you move to the side.

even though what mijae did to jimin would always stay on your mind — the fact that the girl apologized many times would always be on your chest. she seemed genuinely sorry once she grew now, and she seemed to really understand it now that jae-in was getting older.

"what do you need?" you both sit on the couch, and your grateful that the house has a lot of space; meaning your kids wasn't loud over everything.

mijae nibbles on her top lip. "i was wondering if you could give me some advice?" she hesitates.

"advice...about what?"

mijae twists her mouth and she looks uneasy, "about this person i've been dating."

the last time you had talked to jimin about mijae he had told you that the girl seemed happier, as if she was seeing someone and clearly he was right.

"what do you want advice on?"

"well, we've been seeing eachother for a long time now and—" she frowns. "they want kids; or well a kid."

"does he know about jae-in?"

"they." mijae corrects you with a smile. "but yeah, of course. they just want another with me, and well i don't know if i'm ready for that considering you know...how it went down with me getting jae-in."

keyword; getting

you draw in a long breath "are you comfortable with the idea?"

"conceiving?" mijae shakes her head. "no. it just brings back those terrible memories of what i did to jimin." the girls expression is truly sour. "i can't forgive myself, and i think about it all the time."

"well, jimin has forgiven you." you look at her.

"i know but—"

you finish for her. "jae-in hasn't."

"right." she gives an lopsided nod. "i know he's still young but he'll be a teenager next year, and it's just sitting so heavy on me and i just, don't know what to do."

the shake of your head makes mijae turn away from you and honestly you didn't know what to say or do either. you were the worst at giving advice and honestly you didn't 100% know if you were the one to give this kind of advice to mijae.

it felt weird.

your lips are about to move but you stop them, hesitate, then move them again. "why did you do what you did with jimin in the first place?"

"because i liked him. he was a good boyfriend and i wanted the kid i had lost."

"hmm." you hum and mijaes head is tilted downward, a clear fact that she was guilty. "maybe you should go to therapy, to, i don't know? talk it out?"

a line appears on mijaes forhead.

"maybe you didn't grasp the fact that your child died, and maybe having jae-in didn't make you forget it. just because you felt it at the time of doing what you did doesn't mean that it was forgotten. —" you look down at yourself, now thinking about a specific baby girl. "that child you lost will forever be in your heart no matter where you go and who's around you."

you were talking to mijae but you really felt as if you were talking to yourself; everyday you thought about minju.

you and jimin thought about minju

"woman to woman; and woman who lost a child to another." you bring your hand up to lay on her shoulder. "it'll get better but it'll take time. bundling it up just makes it worse."

mijae nods her head, her hands gong to fumble on one another. "i get it..but i, i didn't know you guys lost a baby."

"unfortunately." you smile. "she was a girl."

"mhm." mijae hums.

the key jingling through the door makes both of your eyes snap to it, watching as the tall twelve year old, jimin and curly haired ten year old walked through the door.

"mom?" jae-ins blinking, wide eyes with the whites showing.

"mijae?" jimin takes off his shoes before stepping onto the carpet, confused seeing you and his ex sitting on the same couch. first thing he does is comes to kiss you on the cheek then stands in front of you both. "is everything okay?"

you and mijae both nod. "yes."

minji just looks at you, shrugging her shoulders and running upstairs to check on her other sibling she hadn't seen all day. jae-in follows behind her, he know if he was need by any of the grownups you guys would have said something.

"i should get going now." mijae stands up, and bows at you and jimin. "that's for the advice y/n, i hope we can talk more."

"i'm okay with that."

jimin shows mijae out the front door, not without her calling jae-in down to say see you later and in no time he was watching her pull off — coming back to the couch and sitting with you.

"what was that about?" jimin wraps his arms around you, his black hair getting long on the side of his cheekbones.

"nothing." you smile and give a peck to his lips. "just girl talk."
