Time quickly went by and before they knew it the group of friends was done with their exams and were finally getting ready for the anticipated senior prom.The girls were ready and were waiting for the boys to come by Ashlyn's house so they could drive there together.Nini was looking at the mirror admiring the work Kourtney had done with her make up and patted the beautiful dress they had all chosen together.She was thinking about how different this prom felt than the homecoming one.That time she was hurt,nursing a broken heart while now she was going to prom with the love of her life.She couldn't help but smile at the thought.Ashlyn's voice interrupted her thoughts.
''Neens,the boys are here!'' she yelled.
''Coming.''she replied.
Ricky was downstairs patiently waiting for Nini to arrive and when he finally saw her he couldn't keep his eyes off her.His jaw was slightly open as he saw her with the sparkly gold dress she chose,perfectly hugging her figure,her hair half up and down,framing her face,she almost looked angelic.
''Hi.'' she said softly when she reached him.
''Hey.'' he said and circled his arms around her waist holding her close.
''I bet I look good for you to drop your jaw like that huh?'' she teased.
He shook his head and laughed softly,brushing some hair off her face.''You look so beautiful.'' he breathed and connected their lips into a sweet kiss.The moment he was ready to pull away she grabbed him by the collar of the shirt and deepened the kiss.Slowly they pulled away from each other their foreheads still joined.She was the first to open her eyes,him following and she couldn't help the grin at seeing his dazed expression.
''You know,it wouldn't hurt if we were a little late at prom.'' he wiggled his eyebrows.She rolled her eyes.''You wish.Come on now,they're waiting outside.And maybe you'll get lucky afterwards.'' she whispered to his ear and interlocked their hands.
''You're killing me here.'' he cried causing her to giggle.''Dork.'' she said as she closed the door behind her.''You love it.''

They were at prom for a long time,laughing,talking,dancing and drinking all together,enjoying some of the last moments they would have as seniors.Right now Nini was at the dance floor dancing with Kourtney before the song ended and the sweet melody of 'The Night We Met' filled the room.As Kourtney left to find her girlfriend she felt Ricky's arm behind her wrapping around her waist and nestling his head to her neck.
''Want to dance?'' he asked close to her ear,causing her to shiver.She turned around in his arms,smiling at him.''Gladly.''
He placed his hands low on her waist while her arms circled around his neck,him stepping closer and hugging her to his chest until every part of their bodies were touching.She lightly blushed and his mouth curved into a smile loving that he still had this effect on her.She tilted her head to look up at him and started playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.
''This is so different than the last prom.'' she admitted.He almost winced at the memory.''Yes,and this is so much better.I'm finally where I belong.'' he said and she felt her heart melting.''Yes'' she choked out feeling herself get emotional.''Everything fit right into place.'' she said and left a soft kiss on his lips.Both smiled softly at each other before she rested her head on his chest.
''Baby,are you okay?'' he asked and she hummed.''Just hold me.'' she said and sighed contently.
At the end of the second slow song Ricky broke the peaceful silence between them.''Want to get out of here?'' he asked and twirled a strand of hair between his fingers.
She nodded.''Yes please.''
''Good because I got plans for the night.'' he beamed at her,and they interlocked their hands running out of the school together,laughing like idiots.And as Ricky saw Nini giggling like that,her eyes crinkled and her dimples showing from how hard she was smiling,he realised he would do anything to keep her this happy forever.
