It was a breezy Saturday morning. A messy hair rested on the tangles sheets while a little ball of fur screamed for her life - or food, whatever you choose.

"meredith let me sleep!" meow "shut up" meow "no" meow "i'm not getting up it's like 7am" meow "nop" meooooow "Fuck off!!"

the grey cat jumped from the bed as soon as taylor stepped on the cold floor, walking towards the kitchen. Upon filling meredith's plate, she heard her phone ringing. She ignored the noise, making her way up to the food cabinet in order to get some ingredients for her breakfast.

After a few pancakes and cups of coffee, taylor was sitting on a little bench in front of her piano - a gift her parents gave her once they announced they were getting divorced. "And this is so you can write amazing songs about our failed marriage, taylor. We can't let a moment like this go to waste!", she could hear her mother's voice joking while looking at the instrument.

She pressed some notes, looking at the window while trying to remember the lyrics to the song. A song that was being hummed at that exact same moment by a girl with green eyes entering that exact same building.

I was scared of dentists and the dark
I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations
Oh, all my friends are turning green
You're the magician's assistant in their dream
Oooh, And they come unstuck

A few seconds passed and karlie was now scrunching her face in the doorway in order to listen better. "Oh, she sings. of course she sings. what can't she do??"

Lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you're singing that song
And I got a lump in my throat
'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong

Both girls sang before the blue eyes got interrupted by a knock on the door. "Who's there?"

"Hey, sweetie! Dad's back home with the milk! Are the kids home?"

Taylor opened the door, rolling her eyes, facing a smiling blond figure on the other side of the door. "I didn't know you could sing! I'm actually with this song in my head since yesterday, that's a weird coincidence, isn't it? Maybe is faith acting! This could totally be our song"

"Shut up, little ball of sunshine" taylor mumbled ironically, giving the girl some space so she could get in. "Well, a lot of people say I look like Michelle Pfeiffer" the green eyed girl said while entering the cozy room.

"What?"

"You know, I swear she lives for the screen, closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you've ever seen" the taller sang, smiling

"I swear she's destined, Kloss. Destined, not lives" taylor corrected her, reciprocating the smile "I don't see it, but fine, whatever you say. Now, what the fuck do you want?"

"I tried calling you, but you didn't pick up, so I'm here. I bought us tickets for the Knicks game" the taller sat on the couch, looking at taylor "as much as i love your kitten pajamas, I recommend you to change clothes for the occasion"

"Why would i go to the knicks game?"

"Because I have a meeting with somebody who's there after it, and as my secretary i would very much like for you to be at my side during the process. Since i'm gonna have to go there, why not just watch the game already??" Karlie exclaimed, getting a "fine" from the other girl.

Taylor didn't know much about basketball, so karlie tried to explain the whole game - or at least the obvious parts - to the woman sitting at her side. Both girls wearing turtleneck t-shirts, except taylor's had long sleeves. Both wearing pants, one jeans and one black. Both suppressing the feelings that were now extremely hard to hide.

Taylor could feel her cheeks burning every time karlie looked at her. A feeling that she would deny until the day she died. They exchanged a few looks and some hugs every time their team scored a point. At some point karlie opened the palm of her soft hand, causing Taylor to squeeze it tightly for comfort.

And their hands stayed crossed for a while. In fact, they walked away from the stadium that way, commemorating their team's victory with some happy noises and a cup of bear on their free hands.

The pair was entering a organized room in one of the corners of the stadium when their hands finally let go from one another. Karlie and this random guy talked for what felt like ages from the secretary's perspective. She didn't quite understand what was that all about and why she needed to come, be she wouldn't complain because she did indeed have a good time.

"Just to clarify, just because I had fun doesn't mean that i changed my 'no dating coworkers' rule, Kloss" taylor nodded as soon as they entered karlie's car, smiling.

"But at least you treated me like a normal human being for some hours, that was worth it. Plus, it's not like you're gonna work with me forever" karlie blinked with a smirk on her face, tightening her car belt "i know you're gonna get a bigger purpose in life than just being your wife's secretary. I can wait for that"

"That's actually really nice of you to say, Kloss." Taylor shyly smiled, looking at karlie "But still doesn't mean we're gonna get together any time soon"

As soon as the radio started playing, karlie and taylor widened their eyes at the noise coming from the device.

"I just wanna, I just wanna know. If you're gonna, if you're gonna stay. I just gotta, I just gotta know. I can't have it, I can't have it any other way"

"See? It's literally our song" karlie giggled and started the car, driving into the New York city sunset for some minutes until she got to taylor's home, leaving the girl in safety but full of doubts about her life choices.
