The morning was calm and quiet. Taylor answered some phone calls, one of them being her worried mother asking if she was drinking the right amount of water and eating healthy. The answer was clearly no, but as far as taylor know Andrea would be knocking on her door in a matter of seconds if she said that. So she lied. Lied about the water, about the food, and most important, lied about karlie. "I clearly don't have interest in dating anyone, mom. I don't have a girlfriend or a boyfriend. I don't even have a love interest right now. I don't have someone that I'm texting that is person that someday might be walking down the asile with me. There's like nothing going on." she said to her mother in a calm tone, not even sure if the older one was believing her words.

"Karlie is not here, I'm sorry. She is a meeting with the military or something like that" she looked up to find tom hiddleston smiling at her, some papers on his hand "do you want to leave a message? Or just the papers?"

"Why would the military want karlie?" He asked, interested.

"I don't know? Maybe target practice?" The blond answered in a sarcastic tone, making the guy laugh. "Okay you're funny, I see why karlie brags so much about you. Do you mind joining me for lunch?"

"Sorry I-"

"You don't date coworkers, I'm aware of that" he paused, his British accent making taylor smile. God, she loved British accents.

Something about this was off, although she didn't know what. "don't worry, it's more in a friendly way. I just want to get to know you. Plus, I'm in the kaylor cheer team".

"Kaylor cheer team?"

"Yep. I think 80% of the firm wants you to be together. Half because you are cute, half because this could make Karlie soft a little on work matters. She's tough like a rock, have you tried winning an argument with her?? Fucking impossible"

Taylor smiled to herself with that comment, knowing she already won tons of arguments against karlie. Hearing one of the best lawyers saying it was hard made her feel... well, smart enough. She then accepted the invite, with the condition he would pay for everything.

They entered a quite small restaurant, with the promise that it was one of the best places out there, still unknown by most of the town. It was Taylor's choice, clearly, and seen such an small place made tom shiver - he just wasn't used to it.
