Jack
I sat in Mr. Lennox's study in a recliner type chair. Sofi opted to sit on the carpet cross-legged facing me. As she looked in aw at her brothers who were sitting on the couch next to me talking among themselves.
I took their distraction as an opportunity to study Sofiah, she was different than other girls somehow. This nineteen year old girl who I had never personally met until today hugged me after the service, not a nice to meet you hug but a genuine hug, like we had known each other our entire lives.
Now as she faced the window I couldn't help but notice how she looked so beautiful. Like no other girl I'd ever seen. There is something that you have to understand about Sofiah Lennox, she wasn't an ordinary type of beautiful she has long dark chocolate brown hair that looks almost red in the sunlight, her skin is tanned like that of her three brothers, her eyes are the most amazing thing about her they are the deepest blue-green like ocean waves before they slam against the shore line, this strikes me as odd although each of the Lennox kids have colored eyes so I'm not that stunned.
I swear I could get lost in her eyes and I really wanted to. Her features made her even more beautiful, her dimples, the sound of her voice, her delicate frame. 'Dammit Jack snap out of it! You are not here to ogle the youngest Lennox! You are here to protect her!'
I came out of my thoughts just as the door to the study opened and a tall man with grey hair walked in and sat behind Mr. Lennox's desk. "Thank you all for being patient with me, Steven, Sebastian, I'm glad you all made it back safely."
The man gestured towards me as he said " I take you are Jack Miller?" Well obviously who am I supposed to be? Jason Bourne? "Yes, that's me. Can I ask why I must be here too? I thought the reading of the Will was for the family only?" Sofi looked quizzically as I sat forward in my seat.
"Well Mr. Miller, William added you to his will about four years back. So why don't we start and you shall find out what it is you are entitled to yes?" I was floored...
Sofiah
What is with his guy? Did nobody tell him that my father added him to his will? From what Stefan told me this guy was amazing and my father grew to love him like a fourth son. So why didn't he know? "Sofiah let us begin with you."
My darling Sofiah,
I love you dearly everything you have done has made me and your mother proud of you. We want to see you succeed in all you do. For that reason I have left you a trust and four stocks in your name. You can cash out of your stocks at any time. But your trust you may only open after your twenty-second birthday, I trust you my love that is why your mother and I decided to leave you the Santa Barbara house. Everything in it is yours. We have also made it possible for you to follow your dreams my Sofi. At the Los Angeles branch of Lennox enterprise is a floor completely dedicated to you and a photography business. So on the sixteenth floor is a place to call your own baby girl. Your mother and I love you dearly and we have always wanted the best for you.
Your Father,
William Alexander Lennox
Stefan
My father left a lot to my sister and watching her from my vantage point on the couch I could see tears streaming down her face.
"Stefan, your next my boy" Mr. Callum picked up the next letter in the stack and began to read.
Stefan,
my youngest son I have had a wonderful privilege of raising you your twin sister and your older brothers. I am very pleased at how wonderful and smart all of you turned out. I have left your sister the home in Santa Barbara as well as the sixteenth floor of Lennox in Los Angeles as well as stocks and a trust. Son it wouldn't be fair if I played favorites because the truth is I love all of you equally. You are all my pride and joy. So I want you to run the Los Angeles branch of the company. And I also want you to have the villa in Spain. You will also have a trust you can open after your twenty-second birthday and you have four stocks. You may cash out of those at anytime, but son? Please be the responsible young man I know and love. Please take care of your sister and the company as best you can.
