Natashas Point of View

I take my cell phone from my pocket and quickly look for Laura's number. I really need her help, as I have absolutely no idea how to to take care of a seven-year-old girl.

At the third ring, I sigh in relief. She answered my call.

"Nat? Is that you?" Laura Barton's voice rang through the other end of the cell phone.

"How are you, Laura?" I answered.

Im great, but seems strange to me that youre calling me so early. Its barely eight o'clock at night, did everyone returned from the mission well?" Laura asked.

She sounded confused. I noticed the concern in her voice and I replied quickly.

"Dont worry Laur, I just wanted to tell you that despite everyone being safe and sound, the mission was complicated and well now, umm ... how do I tell you—now we have two small children at the base."

There was complete silence for a few seconds on the other end of the line, before Laura finally spoke.

"I honestly don't know what to think. What the hell, Nat? How old are they?"

I sighed deeply.

"They are seven years old, but that's not all. Theyre twins, and both have signs of torture. To make matters even worse, one of them, the boy, is injured with Clint.

Once again everything was silent.

"Nat, that sounds awful! Laura yelled so loud, I almost went deaf. But I perfectly understood her reaction, the difference is that I had to see it; how poor Wanda sat in the cell with corpses inside. I dont think Ill ever be able to get that scene out of my head. Ever.

"The reason I called you is because I have to take care of the girl, Wanda. I have no idea what to do with a seven-year-old girl. She desperately needs a bath, though.

I admit I sounded way too desperate, but as the adrenaline of the battle passed I finally realized that the life of a child is personally in my hands. I mean, how on earth am I going to do that when my only experience with children is the Bartons, and they are already pretty much grown up?

Lauras reply snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Look, Nat, first of all, you need to calm down, breathe and I can help."

I took a very deep breath, held it for a few seconds, and exhaled. God bless Laura Barton and her maternal instincts.

Okay. How the hell do I bathe a child? I answered much calmer.

"Where is the girl at this moment?" Laura asked.

I walked a little closer to Wanda's bed and sat a bit away from her to avoid overwhelming her.

"Wanda, milaya?

She raised her head and looked at me. Her eyes, they were so innocent and pretty. Like a babys. I think I'm getting attached to her.

Do you think you could stay right here in bed while I go get a bath running for you? I spoke in a really subtle way. Wanda looked at me for a few more seconds and then nodded.

"Okay milaya, stay here. In a few minutes I'll come for you "

She nodded once more, and I headed to the bathroom to prepare the bath. I could hear Laura gushing on the other end of the phone. I had forgot about her for a second.

Aw, She said, look at that! The Black Widow is getting attached to a child. A child!

Laura began to laugh, but I just frowned. Laura could clearly pick up on my facial expression through the phone.
