XV: Love Doesn't Wait
Third POV
Two days.
Izuku had been gone for two full days.
At the end of the first day, they finally were able to finish going through Izuku's call log, finding out that the last call made was with his mother.
Leading them all to believe that he went back to stay with her. Shoji and Asui offered to go and retrieve him but Katsuki shook his head with a dead look in his eyes and tone of voice.
"Leave him alone. As I said, Izuku made his choice to leave and he'll be the one to choose to come back."
Truth be told, no one wanted to see Katsuki like this- he didn't sound nor look like that no-nonsense boss they'd been forced to put up with for the past few years.
It was devastating to just how much Izuku affected him after just one day. It only took a single day and Katsuki had gone in and out of his 'state' and looked like he had little to no will to keep going.
On the second day, he'd just locked himself in his bedroom letting The Three Families take over for him- despite the gentle suggestions of others to help him get back on track.
Considering this- each member took shifts to wait by his door in case he needed anything, and so far the only thing he'd requested was for drinks- making them anxious but they still needed to comply with his request.
He was their boss after all, and surely he was just trying to let out the heartache before he would return.
Right?
By the time the second day was over Kirishima was more than just worried for his boss, maybe even more worried than the others.
He had to admit it but Katsuki was stubborn, and the more he stayed confined meant the greater chance that he could've seriously been a hazard to his health.
He'd be overstepping his line, but this was a risk he just had to take. For his boss, no, for his friend.
. . .
He entered the home, the downstairs being clean but empty- but when he went upstairs it was dark, only seeing the figures of Kaminari and Sero who were on the shift now.
"How is he?" Kirishima questioned, having some uneasy looks from the two guards, gaining the indication that it wasn't going so good.
"All he's asked for this entire time was a bottle of vodka," Kaminari whispered, his hand gripping the handle, attempting to twist it but they heard almost a garbled yell.
"DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT PRYING IT OPEN!"
Sero shook his head, "he won't let any of us come in and I'm worried he's on the brink of passing out... or worse."
Kirishima let out a humph, his eyes glazed over in annoyance, telling his two companions to stand away from the door.
Untucking his pistol he shot the lock, pushing the door open before closing it once more, telling them he'd only be in there for a minute.
Inside the room, it looked the same, despite the multiple vodka bottles laying on the floor, not including the one Katsuki held up to his lips and took a big swig of.
Meanwhile, Katsuki had dark purple bags underneath his eyes from obvious exhaustion- not caring about his predicament when he placed his gun to his head flicking the safety switch on and off.
He hummed, but it was off- as his voice sounded raspier than usual.
"Fuck." Katsuki muttered with a dry laugh, "Normally I'd be holding a gun to your head for busting my door down- but now I don't give a shit."
His body swayed on the bed, having a blank yet broken look.
Kirishima shot back, a look of concern on his face, "Bakugo, you've been in here for two days with nothing but alcohol and a gun to your head- this isn't safe."
"Just say the words and we can go bring Izuku back."
Katsuki let out a deranged giggle, but the look in his was full of hurt, "I really should just let you guys go and kidnap him like the first time but that just wouldn't work."
He ran his fingers through his hair, "Why, just fucking why?"
Kirishima just listened to one of his best friends, currently experiencing heartbreak in the worst way imaginable.
"Those other bitches I've dated and decided to get up and leave I've never had a problem with but with Izuku?" Staring over at the ring that sat perfectly on the nightstand.
"I CAN'T SLEEP, EAT, OR DO ANYTHING WITH FEELING SO DAMN EMPTY INSIDE.! ALL I WANT TO DO IS GRAB HIM AND TIE HIM DOWN TO ME SO HE DOESN'T TRIES TO LEAVE BUT THAT JUST WON'T FUCKING WORK WITH HIM."
he grabbed one of the vodka bottles, throwing it at the wall watching it shatter; to him, Izuku was like a drug he'd die for.
"Why is he so damn different.?"
Kirishima sighed, "I don't know sir. But what I do know is that if you want him to come back he's not gonna show up with you like this."
"True or false? Is that what he fell for in the first place? He wants a man. The dangerous mafia boss that had an even killer unit working for him under a simple whim."
"Think what you will, But let's not forget Izuku took off that ring even when you said not to; so what exactly does Katsuki Bakugo do when people don't listen to him?"
Katsuki looked at the ground then back at the redhead who had a serious look on his face.
"I know it hurts but just gives it one more shot- Midoriya is waiting for you to do it."
Katsuki stared for a moment. "How do you know that?"
"Call it a hunch."
Katsuki sighed, figuring that they were already at the lower point, so at this point, him trying to attempt couldn't have hurt right?
"Fine." That was all he said, shooing Kirishima away who had a relieved smile on his face.
