XVII: Past Made Known

Third POV

~1 year before the govt. Takeover~

The sound of yelling upstairs of the Bakugo family sounded like nothing but trouble.

It was practically rehearsed how Katsuki and his mother had a screaming match at least once a day.

"Why can't you ever leave me alone?!" Katsuki yelled, his brows pinched in disdain, "isn't it clear I'm not interested in what you have for me?"

Katsuki's mother tugged on his ear, making him wince from her sharp manicure, "I'm your mother- YOU LISTEN TO ME AND FOLLOW MY ORDERS!"

He shoved her hand off of him, a figure wearing a sharp suit and on a Bluetooth phone call passing his peripherals.

The man looked over at his wife and child going at it- not bothering to get involved for two reasons:

1. This always happened
2. He was too busy with his clan to worry about ridiculous problems between his wife and child.

So he just walked away, heading to his room at the farthest end of the hall, leaving the two blondes to continue this screaming match.

This was getting old for Katsuki, annoyed with the fact that his mother was still trying to make the rules for him if he was gonna take over the family business and irritated at the fact that his dad never tried to say anything.

It was fine when he was 10- still learning gun maneuvers and learning how to run a business, but he was 14 now, and anything she didn't tell him he had to learn on his own.

He could do most things that most adults learned to do in their early-mid thirties. How to take care of himself.

So it was to be understood how much of a pissed mood he was when there was someone constantly looking over at his shoulder and still trying to hold his hand when he didn't want them to.

"That's it- I'm going back to bed." He grumbled, not actually planning on sleeping but just doing anything to be away from the older feminine rendition of himself.

"We'll talk about this later." His mom sighed in hostility before walking over to her husband's office- not bothering to wish him a good rest.

Katsuki laid flat on his bed, staring at his ceiling, his fuse slowly cooling down after the argument, he was too enveloped in his thoughts to even acknowledge the new text notification from his friend.

He gripped his blanket, tossing it over his body including his head allowing the silence to engulf him.

Maybe he'd be better off just waiting until tonight.

. . .

It was 8 pm when his mother intruded into his bedroom, finding him wrapped in his blanket, asleep. It seemed he accidentally went against his prior plan.

"Katsuki wake up! We have company." She whisper-shouted to not disturb the guests downstairs- in order to preserve their perfect image, harshly shaking him from his slumber.
