A/N: Short chapter, sorry.
"Will we get to see our dad?" Lena exclaimed.
"Or better yet, Iron Man!" Liam added.
Azalea rolled her eyes as a sprig of hair fell from her half-up. Her mouth was full of bobby pins, she had a formal dress on with sweatpants on underneath, and the twins were jumping on her bed.
A few councillors were visiting to question her and Xaiver about-well, everything. Luke had already been interrogated when he was found.
"Iron Man doesn't exist."
"Yes he does!"
"Does not."
"Does too!"
"Does not!"
"Guys! Azalea groaned. "You're not meeting Iron Man. Or your dad. Xavier and I have to do some older-kid work, so you'll stay up here and be quiet until we're finished."
They stopped jumping.
"Awww," They said in unison. She finished tacking up her hair and kicked off her sweatpants. "Don't come downstairs. If you're good, we'll have hot dogs for dinner."
The twins grinned and continued jumping. She pulled on some boots and made her way to the living room, where Xavier was already sitting and conversing with three of the councilors. They were Bronte, Veila, and Noland. Great. Of course it had to be the strictest ones. Veila looked up at her.
"Ah, yes. Miss Harpen. Please take a seat."
Azalea narrowed her eyes. She lived here, and she was offering her a seat? Talk about snooty royals.
Xavier sent her a tight smile. He looked really uncomfortable.
She sat in a squishy armchair across from them.Noland cleared his throat.
"Mr. Rae(she assumed that was his last name), Ms. Harpen, I am sure you know the reason for this meeting. We will ask you both a series of questions pertaining to your upbringing, and we expect to receive detailed and truthful answers. If you would be more comfortable getting questioned separately, please let us know."He paused for a moment, looking between them. Azalea shrugged. Xavier did the same. Noland nodded. "You might want to get comfortable, this is going to be a long day."
