Dante King

"Excuse me what floor is the cafeteria on" I ask a nurse once I walk out of Durani's room.

"Go down to the second floor then take a left then a right" thanking her I walk to the elevator push the call button and wait, a few minutes later the elevator door opens and I wait for the people to step out a guy steps out of the elevator last, body checking me as he passes, I watch the guys as he walks off like nothing just happened.

"He's probably not even paying attention if he's on his way to see someone" Deciding to brush it off I step into the elevator and head down to the second floor.

Entering the cafeteria my phone starts to ring, taking it out checking to see who it is I see Damitri's name flash across the screen so I answer. "Hey" I say placing the phone between my shoulder and ear as I grab a few things for myself and my kitten to snack on tell morning.

"How is she" he asks. As i grab both of us a sandwich.

"She doing good she was sleeping when I left the room" grabbing a few more things I place them on the counter and the lady starts scanning them.

"What do you mean you left where the fuck are" his voice is hard with a bit of anger.

"Calm down she said she was hungry so I came down to the cafeteria to get her something to eat and drink tell you guys come in the morning with actual food" the lady at the register points to the screen so she doesn't interrupt my conversation.

"Thank you keep the change" I take the bag and head back to the elevator press the call button and once again wait for it to come.

"Did you get ahold of the school" I ask getting in the elevator pressing the button for the sixth floor.

"Yeah they said that they'd send all of our school work to the house"

"Will it affect graduation if you guys don't attend actual classes"

"Principal Carson said it shouldn't be a problem giving the circumstances and the fact that we all have good grades we don't have to worry about attending as long as we complete all assignments, but we do have to attend for finals"

I hum in response while walking down the hall to my kittens room, placing my hand on the door handle, I slide the door open to see the man that body checked me on top of her.

"DURANI" I yell catching the attention of a few nurses and doctors dropping my phone and the bag on the floor I grab the guy and pull him off of her.

She has a red and mark across her mouth along with what looks like small bruises and her cheeks. She's sobbing uncontrollably with her arm out to me. Security takes the guy placing him in handcuffs then informs me that the police have been notified and are on there way.

"Shhh kitten it's okay I've got you, I'm here baby" I wrap my arms around her bringing her close to my chest rocking her gently.

"DURANI" I hear Dante yell then the line goes dead. I rush out of my room and into Damien's.

"Get up something happened at the hospital we need to go NOW" he jumps up grabs a shirt and jumps down the hall trying to put his shoes on.

On our way to the hospital i try calling Dante but he doesn't answer.

We get to the hospital in less then fifteen minute's, I throw the car in park and we both jump out and rush inside and up my baby's floor.

Damien rushes into her room and comes to a halt causing me to crash into his back, he quietly enter the room the rest of the way and I follow behind him. There on the bed is a sleeping Dante and Durani, she has dried tear streaks running down her cheeks and there's a red and purple hand print across her mouth along with some more bruising.

Damien nudges Dante's shoulder making him jump a bit opening his eyes he bring his finger up to his mouth in a shushing manner then carefully unwraps himself from around her. He gets up and we walk back out into the hall leaving the door slightly open so we can still see her, he start to explain what happened and what she told him.

It makes me sick to think that the man she knew as her father would be so sick then again look what her own mother did to her, if we wouldn't of got to her in time her mom would of killed her.

Not wanting to hear anymore I go back into the room and sit on her bed taking her hand in mine stroking the back of it with my thumb, I just look at her thinking.

I'll do anything for her.  I can't live with out her. I was, we were so close to losing her again.

I never thought I'd, we'd fall in love so young but I guess that's just how love works it comes to you when you least expect it but when you or the other person needs it the most as long as I get to fall in love with her allover again I'd gladly fall in love any day of the week and minute of every hour.
