Chapter 6 : Confession

The next day, right after he decided to confess to him, Naruto was feeling extremely nervous.

What he didn't expect was to get confessed to instead.

By someone other than Sasuke.

It was a girl he didn't know.

He's only been into Sasuke for as long as he could remember, so he obviously rejected her but Sasuke was sulking big time now, because of the sudden confession that seems to have beat him to it.

"Sasuke~ Stop sulking already~", Naruto tried to cheer him up. They were done having lunch and Sasuke was sulking through out the time they ate.

"hn..", he showed no signs of stopping his sulking.

"Sasuke~", Naruto whined cutely.

Sasuke looked at him sadly, "Even though even I haven't gotten to tell you yet..", he looked away annoyed, "some stupid girl beat me to it"

Naruto chuckled, blushing, "Why don't you tell me then?"

"but you're not ready to say it back yet, right? .. I don't want to pressure you into saying it when you're not ready yet", he said seriously, "I might tease you a lot, but I definitely don't expect you to tell me unless you're ready for it.. So don't worry.. I was just feeling a bit jealous of her, is all.. That was childish, huh", he chuckled but still looked a bit sad.

Naruto looked down, clenching his fists. He never wanted to make him feel like this. All because he was feeling stupidly shy.

He leaned in and hugged him tightly.

Sasuke was startled at the sudden hug but immediately hugged him right back.

"I was kind of annoyed too.. Even though I was planning to confess to you today, it got interrupted by someone I don't even know.. I know that I'm a jerk for feeling annoyed so I didn't want to tell you this..", he mumbled, slowly loosening the hug to look at Sasuke.

"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting.. I love you", he admitted with teary eyes.

Sasuke leaned in and hugged him, so very gently that it almost felt like he was embracing a precious jewel which could break with the slightest of force. Slowly pulling away and smiling happily, he whispered out, "thank you for telling me, I love you too", he leaned his forehead on Naruto's, smiling lovingly, "also you're not a jerk, you're just an idiot"

Naruto pouted looking annoyed, but a cute blush was tainting his cheeks, "rude.. You're definitely a jerk! Hmph!"

Sasuke chuckled, "hn.. But you still love me", he gently caressed his cheek, kissing his nose.

Naruto blushed more, "yeah.. I love you", after saying it once, it felt a bit easier to say it again. Morelike, he felt like he wanted to keep on saying it for a long long time.

"I love you too", Sasuke smiled lovingly, "I love you so much.. I wonder how I ended up so in love with you.. I just love everything about you.. I love you so very much"

Naruto couldn't stop blushing, "..aren't you saying it too much?"

"hn.. You don't like it?", Sasuke smirked.

"Jerk, don't tease me!", he looked away pouting.

Sasuke chuckled, "you're fault for being too cute", he hugged him again, a little tighter this time.

"Idiot..", Naruto couldn't have been more happier, he smiled shyly.

Sasuke smiled widely, "hn..", tightening his hold on Naruto, it didn't seem like he'd let go anytime soon.

Naruto put a hand over Sasuke's chest, trying to push him away, he said with a blush, "the bell rang ages ago, we're going to be late"

"just a bit more", Sasuke persisted stubbornly, pulling him even closer.

Naruto blushed, looking troubled, "Geez.. Fine, don't blame me if we're late!", he gave in shyly.

"hn..", Sasuke smiled happily. Hugging him tightly and snuggling his neck.

Naruto shivered and tried to pull away, but the raven was not ready to let go yet. He sighed and nuzzled the raven's shoulder, more than a little embarrassed.

Idiot...

Sasuke finally let go after a full minute and smiled pleasantly at the blonde, "guess we should get going now, huh..", he trailed off.

"yeah.. I  love you, Sasuke..", Naruto said it again, this time it sounded way more serious, maybe because he was looking right into Sasuke's eyes.

Sasuke's slightly parted lips slowly turned upwards into a gentle smile, "I love you too, Naruto"

Suddenly being hit by the embarrassment of the situation, Naruto quickly looked away, hurriedly changing the topic, "now quickly! We're already late!", he got up, while urging Sasuke to do the same he grabbed his wrist.

Sasuke slid his wirst out, only to grab hold of his hand.

They rushed over to class, hand in hand. Only letting go right in front of their classroom.

They were finally dating now, officially lovers.

Naruto never knew it would make him this happy, his heart wouldn't stay still.

He was so so very happy.

He glanced at Sasuke and found him looking right back at him, he smiled shyly, but the happiness was evident in his eyes.

Sasuke smiled back lovingly, feeling so very loved, and felt as though he's falling even deeper in the never-ending abyss of love he feels for Naruto.
