Saturday had snuck up on Athenadora quicker than she had anticipated. Teddy and Mona were excited, though they didn't have any idea what Draco was planning. Athenadora didn't either really, which made the day even more exciting for the kids. They practically jumped out of bed as soon as it was morning, which was quite comical to Athenadora.
"Draco is coming for breakfast. I need to get you two dressed before I start cooking." Athenadora said, getting the kids' attention.
Athenadora dressed Teddy first, in a pair of warm pants, a grey long sleeved shirt, and a pair of shoes that would keep the snow from his feet. She placed his heavy coat, scarf, winter hat, and mittens on the sofa with Mona's. She then dressed Mona in a pair of thick, black leggings, a cute long sleeved purple dress, and warm boots to go with the outfit. Once the kids were dressed, she ran into her room and quickly threw on some warm clothes, before going to the kitchen to start breakfast. She ended up making toast and eggs, since the kids wanted cereal. When she finished making breakfast, Draco arrived at their home. She invited him into the kitchen and had him sit down so they could all eat together.
"What are we doing today?" Athenadora asked, causing Draco to smile mischievously.
"Well, I have a whole day planned, but everything is going to be a secret until we happen upon it." Draco replied, and Athenadora rolled her eyes with a playful smile.
As soon as the kids were finished eating and all of the dishes were cleaned, Draco and Athenadora began to bundle the kids in their winter gear. Once they were bundled, Athenadora slid on hers, since she didn't want to get cold either. Draco had still been wearing his, though the home was quite warm and he was a bit hot in his winter things. He felt it would've been pointless to take them all off just to put them right back on though.
"First stop, Diagon Alley." He said, before he and Athenadora grabbed the kids and apparated.
Draco had decided to take the kids to Honeydukes, though he was also going to spend money on Athenadora there as well. The kids loved all of the sweets around the shop. Athenadora's favorite was sugar quills, Teddy's favorite was chocolate frogs, and Mona's favorite was cauldron cakes. He had also bought other sweets as well like, chocoballs, chocolate cauldrons, cockroach clusters, exploding bonbons, fizzing whizzbees, fudge flies, jelly slugs, pumpkin pasties, and his favorite for the past few weeks, salt water taffy.
"Now, I was thinking we could go to muggle London. I've only went once before when everything had first ended. We can go sight seeing, and go to a nice restaurant for lunch or dinner, depending on how long we stay there." Draco commented, and Athenadora nodded in agreement.
Draco, Athenadora, and the kids apparated right outside muggle London, knowing the muggles didn't need to see their magic. Draco knew most of muggle London, but Athenadora really didn't. She had stayed in the wizarding world for most of her life, since all of her family was part of the wizarding world.
"First stop, Buckingham Palace. The queen of England lives there. She's part of the royal family of England. I was baffled myself when I found out muggles had royal families." Draco said, bringing Athenadora and the kids to see Buckingham Palace.
"Are people allowed to go inside?" Athenadora asked, and Draco nodded.
"Yes, but I didn't book a tour. Next time--if there is a next time--I'll book a tour and we can see the inside." Draco answered, causing Athenadora to smile.
"Where next?" Teddy asked, looking up at Draco.
"The British Museum. I know your mum would like to explore it, and maybe you two might find something interesting inside as well." He replied, smiling down at the kids.
The museum was amazing, and it was full of very historical things for Athenadora to learn about muggle history. The next place Draco took them was to the House of Parliment. Teddy and Mona were in awe when they see Big Ben, which Draco almost found amusing. He had also brought them to Westminister Abbey and then to the Tower of London. Some of the sites reminded Athenadora of the manors owned by wizards and witches in the wizarding world.
They stopped for lunch while exploring the Piccadilly Circus, which somewhat reminded Athenadora of Diagon Alley on busy days. A good bit of the food was different, but the four had fun trying the new foods. Draco almost seemed to like muggle London, even though he grew up hating muggles because of his upbringing. After lunch, Draco took the trio to the London Eye for a ride to look out at all the amazing scenery. The kids were a little scared of the height, but they had fun nonetheless.
"It's a bit cold, but I'd like to take you all to Hyde Park." Draco commented, and Athenadora nodded.
Athenadora knew it was cold, but that's why she had bundled the kids so tightly. They wouldn't get sick from the cold, especially since the two adults had placed charms on them to keep them warm from the bitter wind that was wiping through the air and biting people's noses and cheeks.
"One day we'll see a play at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, but not today. The kids would never want to sit through that." Draco said, causing Athenadora to laugh.
"They do hate sitting still." She replied, as she smiled down at the two kids.
She wondered what Draco meant when he had said 'we,' but she didn't ask. She didn't want to assume anything, or embarrass herself more than her own thoughts were embarrassing her at the moment.
"C'mon, we have more sights before we go to dinner." Draco stated, pulling the trio along.
Draco had never had this much fun in his life, which made him wonder why he was having all this fun in muggle London. He hoped it was the company and not the location...
