After the dinner, Athenadora couldn't seem to stop thinking about how much fun she had with Draco. She was happy that the kids had fun with him as well. At first she was skeptical about the kids and herself being so far away alone with Draco, but after everything he did for them, she couldn't barely remember what bad things he did to make her not trust him in the first place. Sure, he was a death eater, but he didn't exactly have a choice in the matter. The mark was forced upon him because of his father's screw up.
"What's got you in a daze?" George asked, as he walked over to his friend at the front.
"Oh, uh, nothing. It's nothing." She stuttered, causing him to purse his lips.
"Ya know you can tell me anything, right? I'm not going to criticize you, 'Thena." He said, making her sigh.
"I know, but it's just--what I'm thinking about is absurd, I guess." She replied, and he nodded.
"Does it happen to be a guy?" He asked, causing her eyes to widen.
"H-How did you--?" She began, as she stared at him.
"I could just tell," He answered, sighing slightly,"'Thena, I'm not going to hate you for finding a guy to finally make you happy again. Fred wouldn't hate you either; he'd be happy that you finally moved on. You deserve to be happy again, so please don't make your happiness harder to find because you feel guilty. Don't feel guilty, 'Thena, be happy." He said, and she nodded.
Athenadora knew George was right, but she also knew he'd be cross if she told him who she found some happiness with. Sure, she and Draco weren't together or anything; no feelings were even mentioned, at least, not yet, but George would still be pissed. George blamed every death eater for his brother's death, even Draco, though it wasn't Draco's fault that Fred had been killed.
Athenadora missed Fred a lot, but she wasn't going to blame Draco for his death. She knew which death eater killed him, and she was always going to blame that death eater, as well as Voldermort and Bellatrix Lestrange. Matter of fact, she was going to also put a lot of blame on Lucius Malfoy, since Draco wouldn't have been a death eater if it wasn't for that asshole of a man.
"Who is it? What are they like?" George asked, breaking Athenadora from her thoughts once again.
"He's nice, very nice actually. He approached me the other day, Dad's birthday I believe. He bought a pet for the kids, and he helped me bring it home with them the other day. He stayed for pizza, and invited us out last Saturday. He took us to muggle London to go sightseeing, and brought us to dinner as well. We had a lot of fun with him, and the kids seem to really like him." Athenadora said, causing George to nod slightly.
"Do you want to tell me who it is, or how you feel about them?" He asked, but she shook her head.
"I'm not going to mention names yet, since I'm not sure if feelings are even there. He's nice, and I really like hanging out with him. If the kids like him, it's a real bonus. Honestly, if I had to say anything, I believe there's a chance that feelings are developing. I'm just not sure how he and I feel about each other just yet. I know we're friends now though, but that's all I know right now." She stated, making him sigh.
"'Thena, I believe you should think about how you're feeling about this guy. Maybe you should hang out with him alone one time to see how you feel without the kids around." George commented, but the girl shook her head.
"Your mother would kill me if she found out I was hanging out with another guy after what happened to Fred, especially with the kids. She would be mad that I left them with her to hang with a guy, and she'd be mad at me for hanging out with the guy when the kids were around." Athenadora replied, making George nod.
"I know, so I can watch them for a bit. You can come get them after dinner or whenever. I know you probably want them home for bed, so I can make sure they're not wired up before they go home." George said, causing Athenadora to smile slightly.
"You're honestly a great friend, Georgie. I'm so happy to have you in my life. I really do love you." She murmured, hugging her best friend.
"It's not a problem, 'Thena. They're my niece and nephew, so I'm happy to watch them. I love you, too, 'Thena, just as much as I love the kids." He replied, kissing the top of the girl's head.
If it wasn't for George, Athenadora knew she'd never get as far as she had gotten in her life. George was glad he had Athenadora as well, since she was his best friend and she was the mother of his brother's daughter. He loved his niece and nephew, and he promised himself that he'd protect them and Athenadora with his life. He wasn't going to fail them like he felt that he failed Fred. Athenadora never blamed George for what happened to Fred, just like he didn't blame her, but he sure did blame himself.
Athenadora wondered if she'd ever actually allow herself to be happy with Draco. She wasn't even sure if she or Draco had any real feelings for each other, but if they did, she wondered if she'd allow herself to follow her feelings. She knew people would hate her if she got with Draco, and she didn't know if she could handle the hate. Honestly, if she lost most of the Weasleys, she'd be fine with it. She knew Charlie and Bill wouldn't hate her, but she knew it would practically kill her if she lost George. George was her best friend and she refused to lose him. She also wondered if Mrs. Weasley would try to take the kids away if she got with Draco. She refused to lose her kids to that woman, so she'd make it impossible for her to take them...
