I pulled the needle out and release the safety feature, "Okay you're all done. Three successful tubes," I said with a smile as I tossed the needle into the sharps container. "You are a talented young lady, I didn't feel a thing." Mrs. Choi said with a smile as she slips on her sweater. "It would be a shame if you leave this clinic," She said with a smile, I let out a small laugh and patted her hand.

"Thank you Mrs. Choi your compliments always make my day brighter." I said as I walk her out of the laboratory, "You know I'm glad that you were able to find my veins, most nurses would struggle and are ruthless when sticking." Mrs. Choi said with a frown. We reached the lobby, "And my son always ends up suing the nurses." Mrs. Choi said. My eyes widened at her comment, "Well good thing I'm not a nurse rather a Phlebotomist, I studied to stick a vein professionally so you have nothing to worry about not even your son." I said with a smile. Mrs. Choi smiles, "Oh Seungcheol!" Mrs. Choi calls out. I look to see Seungcheol, I felt my heart pound against my rib cage. Mrs. Choi is Seungcheol's mother?!

"Eomma, did it go well? Are you in pain?" Seungcheol asked, looking at Mrs. Choi's arm. "It's okay, Seungcheol; this lovely young lady knows exactly what she's doing." Mrs. Choi said. Seungcheol lifts his gaze from his mother, "Mitxy Hong, nice to see you again." Seungcheol said with a forced smile. I gave him a small smile and bowed, "It's Mitxy Martinez, Hong is my stepdad's last name." I said. Mrs. Choi smiles sweetly, "You two know each other?" She asked nudging Seungcheol's arm teasingly. "We met at her birthday party, Christopher had invited me to attend," Seungcheol said, his voice seemed very formal and cold.

Mrs. Choi smiles, "Oh, that's wonderful; I was going to introduce you to her myself." She teased. I smiled and let out a chuckle, "How can Martinez be your last name when you're Joshua's sister?" Seungcheol asked. I looked at him and gave him a stern nod, "Stepsister, his father married my mother...we're only stepsiblings that act like actual siblings." I said, placing my hands in the pocket of my lab coat. I look at Mrs. Choi, "I'll send your results to your doctor, Mrs. Choi. I advise you to get some rest and drink plenty of water and foods with iron. It will help with your low iron deficiency." I said, handing her a small card with steps to help control her red blood cells.

Mrs. Choi smiles and chuckles, "Thank you, Dr. Martinez. I'll make sure to do that. Thank you for attending me, have a blessed day and a nice night." She said with a sweet smile before leaving the lobby with Seungcheol. A sigh escapes my lips as I walk back to the lab, "How did it go with Mrs. Choi?" Suzy asked with a smile.

"Yeah, it went well. I don't understand why previous phlebotomists or nurses had trouble with Mrs. Choi, she isn't a hard stick." I said with a smile. I begin typing Mrs. Choi's labels for the blood sample tubes, "It's not that she's a hard stick it's more of her son being picky when it comes to her health." Suzy said starting the centrifuge for her patient's samples. I slip on some gloves as I start labeling the tubes and placing them in the processing machine.

"Choi Seungcheol is picky? What a shocker, sort of." I said with a smile, Suzy smirks and shakes her head. "Rough start with Seungcheol?" She asks as she pours off plasma into another tube. I start the machine, "Something like that," I said biting my lip. I look at the time on my iWatch, 2:30pm. I stretched out my arms hoping it would pop my back a bit.  "Hong, you got a patient coming in around 3:20 pm. Here's their file and the previous Phlebotomist did leave a note." Dr. Park said handing me the file before leaving the lab, "Thanks" I called out. Suzy scoffs, "Hard stick? What is it with every other Phlebotomist not hitting the vein." Suzy remarks as she walks out with the specimen. The second floor of the test area right where Wonwoo is, I sighed as I packed Mrs. Choi's samples and left the lab as well.

I walk off the elevator to see Suzy and Joshua talking, "Is Wonwoo in his office? I need him to run the tests on Mrs. Choi." I said, entering the test area. Joshua follows behind with Suzy, "Wonwoo should be in," Joshua said, opening the door. Wonwoo examined Suzy's patient's blood, "I'm almost done, Mitxy, just set it to the side. I'll run the diagnostics after this one," Wonwoo spoke, without breaking eye contact from the screen. "Just to let you know this is Mrs. Choi's blood samples," I said looking at him, Wonwoo turned his head towards me. "Don't worry Mitxy, Seungcheol isn't going to snap at you. They'll be on your desk around 4 pm." Wonwoo said with a smile. I patted his shoulder and left his lab.

"Mitxy, wait up," Joshua calls out; I wait by the elevator. "How's your hand? You know you shouldn't be using it," He said. I looked at him. "I know, don't worry, I'm fine. besides, sticking patients isn't hard work." I said, Joshua chuckles. "So I hear you met Seungcheol with his mom; how did it go?" Joshua asked. I bit my lip and sighed. "It went fine, only he kept butting in on us being siblings," I said. Joshua laughed and crossed his arms. "Seungcheol is a tough shell, Mitxy; sooner or later, he'll soften up to ya." He said, I shake my head. "I doubt that...see ya around," I said, stepping into the elevator.  I just hope I don't end up disliking Seungcheol more.
