The meeting for this week's investment is dull and filled with complete stiffness, my mind can't seem to be at ease. A small sigh escapes my lips as Christopher closes the presentation, "Well then let's try our best for the upcoming weeks to make sure sales go up and the customers are satisfied." He says with a smile as the employees gather their things and proceed to leave the conference room.
Christopher closes the door, "Alright, what's got your mind trapped?" He asked. I get up and look at him, "Nothing important to talk about." I said turning the projector off. Christopher sighs and crosses his arms, "Seungcheol...you usually pin-point in meetings. What's going on?" He asked proving a dumb point. I let out a sigh and gave him a stern gaze, "You...you stuck at setting people up, Jihoon and Suzy is a different story but Mitxy..." I let my frustration be known.
Christopher chuckles amusedly, I furrowed my brows and let out a scoff. "Seungcheol if you dislike her, then why are you letting her cloud your mind at work?" He asked with a cocky smirk, I tossed the remote onto the table. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window, cars passing by the ten-story building. The sky dark and grey as lighting gives us a warning, "I do believe that Mitxy isn't the problem here...How's your aunt Sekyung?" Christopher asked as he stood next to me. I let out a sigh of frustration, "She's been bringing Adeline wherever she goes...she brought her to my grandfather's party, and to my parent's house when Mitxy was there for both events." I said letting my shoulders relax.
Christopher exhales sharply, "I take it Aunt Sekyung still is trying to get your name off the will," He says. I bite my lip and nod, "She's power-hungry...what can I do besides playing the role my grandfather has always expected of me?" I said looking at Christopher. He nods and looks out the window, "What about Mitxy? Are you planning to break off whatever it is you two got?" He asks. I exhale softly and turn my back against the window, "Perhaps...I don't want my aunt dragging Mitxy into this nasty game of hers." I said. Christopher sighs, "Let's hope that doesn't come of it, Mitxy is a great person Seungcheol." He says patting my shoulder before walking off to the door.
"If you break her heart, you'll end up destroying something unfixable," Christopher says as he leaves the room. I look at the time and grab my phone off the table, I open Stella's contact hitting call. I pace back and forth as I wait for her to answer my phone call.
"Baby cousin? What a surprise to hear from you this early." Stella let out while trying to catch her breath, I rolled my eyes. "I need to talk to you...about Adeline." I said, Stella sighs and laughs. "Thinking about dumping your current girlfriend already?" She asked, I scoffed. "Don't dream of it, what exactly are you two planning?" I asked, Stella sighed. Shuffling and low voices could be heard in the back, "What are you talking about?" She asked. I pinch the bridge of my nose in annoyance, "Oh come on Stella, I know you. You still hold resentment towards me since the day of your failed wedding," I said. Stella scoffs and laughs, "Yah! You chased my fiance off of course I hold some resentment!" She blurs out.I stop my pacing, "Aunt Sekyung was the one who bribed Hongjong! Threatening the lives of his family if he didn't break off things with you! She was the one who chased him away, not me!" I said letting my anger take over. I let out a huff of breath as I steadied myself, "No! Lies! Aunt Sekyung wouldn't—oh god" Stella cries. I lean against the table, "Aunt Sekyung knew if you were to be married half of her fortune would go to you and Hongjong..." I said breaking the news of how greedy Aunt Sekyung is. Stella sobs, "How do you know all this!?" She asked.
I bite my lip and exhale softly, "Because I grew up under her roof Stella, I've seen and been through it all...I can help you get Hongjong back if that's what you still want." I said. Stella sighs as she sniffles, "It's been two years Seungcheol, Hongjong has long gone forgotten about me." She says. I chuckle and look at my watch, "How would you know that?" I asked. Stella goes silent, "Seungcheol...have you spoken to Hongjong?" She asks. Her voice filled with desperation, I let out a sigh. "I have to go now, I have a business event to attend too," I said ending the call. I walked out of the conference room, it didn't take Stella five seconds to think about it.
The moment I stepped foot out of the room she made up her mind, Stella: Adeline plans to get in between you and Mitxy. Through humiliation.
A tired sigh escapes my lips as I walk down the hallway toward the elevator, my finger clicking repeatedly on the down button. I look for Mitxy's contact through my phone as I wait for the stupid elevator to get here, calling her number.
Straight to voicemail, I let out an irritated sigh and took the stairs. Running down feeling the adrenaline kick in as I try calling her once more, "Yah, you're being annoying right now. What do you want?" Her voice was quiet. I stop on the fifth floor and catch my breath, "Where are...you?" I asked. Mitxy sighs, "In a meeting with my supervisor why?" She asked. I proceed to rush down the stairs, "I need to speak with you, wait for me at your workplace. Don't leave, don't even talk to anyone that goes asking for you." I said. Mitxy sighs in annoyance, "Oh god, this better be serious Seungcheol." She says before hanging up.
I reached the first floor and called for Stan to bring the car out front. This is serious, something much more serious than Stella's failed wedding.
