I put my phone back inside the pocket of my coat before entering the conference room, Dr. Park and Dr. Yen laugh as Dr. Devon makes vulgar jokes about Dr. Reyes. A sigh escapes my lips as Jihoon rolls his eyes, and I sit back down. Dr. Devon clears his throat, "Well this meeting is about the recent incident with Mitxy." He says. Jihoon leans forward and lets out a soft sigh. "Mitxy was indeed injured but the incident was sustained thanks to her," Jihoon says.

I looked at Dr. Park, his expression was filled with worry. "This isn't about praising her bravery, this is about her breaking the regulations of a patient's consent." Dr. Yen says, I look at them with furrowed brows. "What do you mean? The patient's mother had given us consent for Dr. Luhan to proceed with the treatment." Jihoon protests as Dr. Devon chuckles and shakes his head, it hits me. "But the patient's father was against the treatment. And yet she went ahead and continued to break the regulations." Dr. Yen says crossing his arms.

The patient's mother had mentioned how the father was against the treatment and that a divorce was happening due to the father's neglect of their daughter's health. I feel my heart ache as I get up and yank the hospital badge from my neck, I throw it on the table. "That mother was seeking help for her sick daughter if helping a mother is so wrong and against our work of field then I no longer wish to be part of this hospital and its toxic misogyny," I said looking at Dr. Yen and Dr. Devon. Jihoon gets up perplexed, "Mitxy..." He says.

I fight back the tears, "It's good to know that men simply don't give two shits about a woman's health." I said letting out a bitter laugh. "Martinez!" Dr. Yen scolds, I let out a sigh and look at Jihoon with a small smile before walking out of the room. I wipe away the tears as I speed walk towards the diagnosis hall. "Martinez! Mitxy Martinez Hong!!" Dr. Devon calls out with anger, and patients, visitors, and employees turn to look at us. I bite my lip in anger, "You are being dramatic about this!" Dr. Devin says.

I let out a scoff and turn to face turned, "Dramatic! All I did was help a worried sick mother! And I'm being dramatic! Dr. Devon! You are the most misogynistic person in this hospital! You would rather side with a man who could care less for his daughter's health than help a mother who wants her daughter to be alive!!" I raised my voice loud enough for everyone to hear the truth be told. Dr. Devon's expression was replaced with humiliation and embarrassment, "Now you're causing a scene," He says.
I let out a hysterical laugh, "You're suspending me for helping a mother!! I rather quit knowing this hospital doesn't give a fuck about a mother's cry for help! So I apologize if I'm being dramatic Dr. Devon!" I let out as I enter the Phleb's office and grab my things.

"Mitxy," Jihoon calls out as he rushes into the office, "I'm done Jihoon, I'm done holding back against the truth," I said looking at him as I tossed the lab coat onto the desk. Jihoon's face saddened, "I know, and I'm glad that you stood up for yourself and your beliefs." He says with a sad smile. I let out a sigh and finished packing my things up, "I'll see you around okay," I said patting his shoulder before walking out of the office. Suzy and Joshua rush out of the elevator as I head to the lobby of the hospital, "Mitx, we heard about what happened." Suzy says. I hand the badges every employee is given to the security guard, "Later, we'll talk later." I said looking at them.

I noticed Wonwoo standing beside Jihoon as Joshua grabbed my arm, "Are you okay?" He asked. I look at Joshua, "I'm okay, but we'll talk about this later." I said as his grip leaves my arm. A sigh escapes my lips as I walk out of the hospital building.

Stepping on the last step I let the tears slip, I can't believe that I had to leave my job just because of misogynistic men. I let out a small sob as I wiped away the endless tears, hurried footsteps made me look up. "Wae? What's wrong?" Seungcheol's voice makes the cries more difficult, "Wae? Are you hurt? Mitxy, wae, wae? mwoga munje ya? malhae juseyo," He says as he wipes away my tears softly. His voice is filled with worry and anticipation, I choke lightly on my sobs as I try to speak correctly.

"I—had to quit" I sob, Seungcheol furrowed his brows. "Wae? Why did you?" He asked, I look at him. "I was g—going to get—suspended for helping—a worried eomma—" I cry, Seungcheol's gaze darkens. "neo bang-geum mwolago haess-eo? michingeoni?" His tone was harsh, he lets go of me. His gaze turns to the entrance of the hospital, I grab his grab. "Yah, don't do anything stupid." I cry, Seungcheol sighs as he grabs my hand. "al-ass-eo, al-ass-eo. Let me take you home." He says picking up the black bag.

I wipe away tears and try to gather my composure, Seungcheol leads me to his car. I bite my lip as he opens the passenger door, I get in without a word. I fastened the seatbelt as he closed the door, my fingers fiddling with each other as he put my bag in the backseat. After working at the hospital for two years and a half, it's finally come to this. A tired sigh escapes my lip as Seungcheol's gets in the car, "Gwaenchanh-euseyo?" He asked. I look at him for a split second realizing he's being genuine, "Ani, I'm far from okay." I spoke softly as I swallowed my anger down.

Seungcheol starts the car as he lets a sigh fall past his lips, "Okay..." He muttered. I run a hand over my face softly as I find myself calming down, I pull my phone from my pocket and text Soonyoung.

MC: Are you busy tomorrow morning?

SOONYOUNG: ??Ani. Wae?

MC: We need to talk...

I put my phone down on my lap as Seungcheol drives passed the familiar streets, Soonyoung will know what to do. He's not only a businessman but also a great attorney, "Seungcheol...what was it that you need to talk about?" I asked turning my gaze to him. He grips the steering wheel tightly, "I—don't worry about it, we'll talk about it some other time." He says with a small smile. My breath hitches as I engrave his smile in my mind, a genuine smile? Not the fake it till you make it smile but a smile that proves his arrogance is nothing but a display.
