honestly there was no real reason as to why lauren should be mad about moving to a different country. sure, maybe she would have to make a couple of new friends again but it's not like it wasn't easy for her to do so.

i mean she couldnt do anything about it now since she was already is south korea, and she was loving it. except for the fact that they literally landed there two days before the first day of school.

she spent her first day in korea sleeping.

when she had woken up it was already the next day, 4pm on a sunday afternoon. she sat up on her bed. her bag with her school supplies sat in the corner of her room. she let out a sigh. she was bored.

she opened her closet, which was empty, then went back to her luggage that she had shoved under her bed and pulled out some light washed straight-legged jeans and a basic black crop top along with a beige cardigan she had stolen from her moms closet a while ago.

she tied on her converse and was on her way out the front door when a familiar voice spoke towards her, "lauren where're you going sweets?"

"oh no where mama im just gonna walk around and try to find a cafe or something. some place i can go study after school or something you know?"

her mother gave her a big smile along with a thumbs up, "text me if you need anything!"

she reciprocated the smile with both of her thumbs up and nodded. as soon as she shut the door she realized she had forgotten her bag. she walked back in, "that was fast! is my daughter the flash?"

"very funny," she grabbed the tote bag off of the hanger near the entrance "forgot my bag. how am i supposed to walk around and possibly buy stuff without the bag that has my money?"

her mom laughed, "okay see you soon laur come back before six and don't get lost."

she nodded once again and headed out the door, for real this time.

the cool breeze hit her face immediately waking her up. she started walking on the sidewalk only focusing on the beat of her pink high top converse. her shoes were fairly new, she had bought them for a gift to herself as a 'you didn't argue with your parents about moving back to korea' present.

she had lived in the united states up until the age of five then moved to korea for the first time to be closer to her fathers side of the family. and don't get her wrong, she loves her father with all her heart, its just that the feeling of change was overwhelming for a five year old. change is still overwhelming feeling to her just not as effective as it used to be. although both of her parents were born in america, her father's parents were born in korea while her mother's parents were born in america. the reason she had moved to korea at the age of five was because her grandparents had felt they hadn't 'experienced' enough time with their granddaughter, so they lived there until she turned the ripe age of seven.

once they had moved back to the states she had pushed out the memories of living in korea. she would never tell her grandmother and grandfather how much she hated living there for two years, she knew it would crush them.

her broken korean made for lots of talk amongst her fellow classmates and she made sure as hell made them stop all of their barking by pushing and shoving them. well what she considered pushing and shoving and what others might consider punching and stomping. she was never one to let others babble, rather she'd put them in their place even if she wasnt the one obligated to.
