sunghoon looked away towards the window hoping the girl wouldn't notice the blood that immediately rushed to his cheeks when he saw her smile.

she tapped his hand that rested on the table, "my name's lauren" she whispered.

he turned his head back towards her while his cheeks were stilled fully flushed, "lawr...en?"

she smiled at his attempt at pronouncing her name, "lor-rehn," she repeated to the boy.

"lauren?"

she clapped quietly, "yes but shh i don't want no one else to know my name kay?"

"oh okay" he smiled at her again as she did the same. her eyes returned to her packet.

sunghoon sat still, maneuvering with his hands until he waited for her to speak out again. he was nervous for some reason, not just because she was a girl but she was a pretty girl. he'd never talked to another girl beside his figure skating girl friend, in fact she was the only other girl he had ever talked to.

he hadn't talked to her in a while, not since he quit figure skating to become an idol. so how could he have a normal conversation with an attractive girl whom he's never met?

he felt a soft, light tap on his hand which snapped him out of his thoughts, "sunghoon how do you pronounce this?"

she turned the packet towards him and watched as his eyes tracked down the word she pointed at. maybe, just maybe, she can make at least one new friend right?

"...oh aigoo!"

she payed close attention to his lips to make sure she could get the pronunciation just right, "ah-ee-go?"

he gave her a thumbs up and smile, "aigoo."

"and what context would you use it in?"

it was hard for him to maintain the eye contact she was so strongly good at, "it's the korean way of saying omg...im sorry thats the best way i can explain it im not much of a good teacher."

she patted his hand, "its okay i understand, thank you." her eyes went down to her packet once more.

he watched as her eyes traveled down the page. her hair was nice, the sun was still out and she was seated by the window just like sunghoon. although her hair was brown, when the sun hit her hair it turned a dark red.

she turned up to sunghoon once again and was immediately met with his eyes already on her, "what does simkung mean?"

he blinked rapidly caught off guard from her quick eye contact, "oh um like a heartthrob..."

"ok", she turned her head back to the packet and flipped the page.

sunghoon curiously looked at the girl in front of him. why was she studying random phrases? her korean seemed just fine to him.

how was he going to ask her? was she korean? was she american? was she japanese? chinese?

i mean he always came to the cafe every time he had a chance and she never appeared once, until now. he was on his break which lasted two to three weeks, so if he wanted to make a move or ask any questions it had to be now.
