sunghoon stood outside of lauren's home on her porch with a handful of snacks and his duffle bag full of clothes. he stood there contemplating how he could knock on the door without disturbing them but disturbing them enough to open the door.

lauren on the other hand had fallen asleep on the living room couch with a weighted blanket that was probably about two times her size.

lauren's parents were both in the kitchen playing light music as background noise filler while they talked about random occurrences that had happened throughout their week.

sunghoon still stood outside on the porch, wobbling back and forth until he finally built up the courage to softly knock on the door. quick running feet were heard and the door swung open.

"oh sunghoon," lauren's mom dragged out his name, "come in come in!"

she grabbed sunghoon's arm and pulled him into their home and closed the door. "lauren's on the couch sleeping right now if you want to wake her, or you can just talk to her father and i until she wakes up? whatever you'd like."

sunghoon looked around and immediately spotted lauren in the living room asleep on the couch, as her mom had told him.

he didn't want to disturb his girlfriend. how bad could a conversation be with her parents?

"is it okay if i lay my stuff down in lauren's room," he quickly cut himself off before continuing to speak, "or wherever i'm going to sleep."

laurens mom laughed at the boy's nervousness and patted his shoulder, "its okay sunghoon. you can leave it in laur's room im sure she wont mind" she gave him a comforting smile making him feel a little more at ease.

"i promise i wont be long. and as soon as im done putting my stuff down i will come and join you."

"its okay sunghoon take your time! you'll have enough time to talk to us." she patted the boy's back, "her bedroom is upstairs. the first left."

he bowed to lauren's mother, dropping a plastic bag that held a couple of things he had gotten for lauren. "um," his face quickly became red, "may you please put that on top of the pile of clothes im holding."

she did as he asked and laughed once more.

he speed walked up the stairs and immediately knew which room was hers. her door had been left wide open and her familiar smell had taken up the hallway.

he quietly stepped into her room as if an alarm would go off if he made any wrong movements.

her room was awfully clean, reminding him of his room at the dorms. her bed was made neatly with stuffed animals organized in a particular order on the bed. her desk was neatly arranged even having pictures of, what he assumed, her and her old friends.

he set his stuff down all of the stuff he had brought for the girl at the end of her bed. he set his bag down in front of her closet.

he walked out of her room when he noticed a flash go off on her desk. he stopped and quietly walked back into her room. her phone flashes once more.

he slowly walks over and taps her screen only for it to be the boy he had just dropped off messaging her.

'Sunghoon dropped me off' and 'I didn't die!' were the messages from the boy. he ran out of the room and left her phone, afraid that lauren would pop out of no where.
