it was a quiet and late afternoon at the dia household. muffled sounds of the television being on could only be heard from lauren as she watched True Beauty with sungchoom — the giant stuffed penguin she had stolen from sunghoon's room — not to be confused with sunghoon, lauren's boyfriend.

she hadn't received a text from sunghoon all day due to him being busy with his album promotion. prior to her knowing this, he had sent non-stop messages apologizing the day before their busy day about how he wouldn't be able to text her and that she would be on his mind the entire day.

so lauren sat comfortably cuddled up on her bed with sungchoom by her side as she munched on snacks she had snuck up to her bedroom.

she would occasionally talk out loud, to her computer of course, to counteract Kang Su-Jin's actions because contrary to the majority of others who like Kang Su-Jin — lauren despises Kang Su-Jin.

she pressed the spacebar. "i'll be right back sungchoom." she said while adjusting the almost life-sized penguin to the corner of her bed as she slid off.

lauren made her way downstairs and into the kitchen where she had hoped to find her parents but only finding a noisy television playing by itself. "hm." she huffs as she made her way into the kitchen that was also empty.

she was home alone this entire time. lauren didn't see this as a sense to start panicking, but instead as an opening invite to see if her boyfriend was available. she thought that her parents had probably told her it was a date night and she had simply forgotten.

lauren looked at the clock realizing that it was now evening. she hoped that sunghoon was done for the day considering the time. she called his number and waited for him to, hopefully, pick up.

"hello?"

lauren immediately smiled hearing her boyfriend's voice over the phone. "hey hoon, how was your day with the promoting and everything?"

"it was good." he said dryly.

"oh," lauren furrowed her eyebrows as if he could see her face, "anything happen?"

"no." he responded weakly.

lauren made an annoyed face at the fact that he wasn't responding like he usually was. "do you wanna come over? you can sleepover if your tired, my parents wont be back until later and they wont care." she said in an upbeat manner hoping that her response would cheer up sunghoon.
