lauren runs back inside and slams her front door. her heart hurting more than ever before.

as soon as her front door closes tears start streaming down her face. lauren couldnt even make it past the entry hallway before completely breaking down.

she slides down the wall as a hurdle of tears come over face. she sits on the floor with her head in her knees as her pants soak up her sobs.

her world had finally come crashing down. everything was falling apart inside her. her heart burned and her eyes couldn't stop weeping. her throat started to hiccup as the pace of her tears quickened. her world was lonely and empty again.

she could recall every moment she shared with sunghoon and how genuinely happy she was. she was his sun and he was her ice. though now she had felt like the sun hadn't melted the ice, but instead froze it.

she wanted to pull every strand of her hair out. she wanted to scream at the top of her lungs. she wanted to go over to the dorms and scream at him. she wanted to cry in his arms. she wanted to hug him tight. she wanted to do so many things right now but she couldn't.

she had absolutely no strength to do anything at all except cry it all out.

she blamed herself — after all this was all the after math of her bending her rules for one boy. one boy who had turned out to be an idol. one boy who had made sure that none of his (old) friends made any kind of assumptions about her. one boy who had fought for her. one boy who made sure he was always by her side.

so at the end of the day, this was her fault. she had wanted to make zero friends, not even a boyfriend in mind, and she made a friend. she let him in with open arms when she knew what her ending was going to be. she knew the consequences of her own actions and she didn't care because he was the boy.

he was the boy that was supposed to be different — and he was just not in the way she expected him to be.

her hiccups slowed down as did her breathing. she breathed in and out slowly. her heartbeat slowing down as well. her body had become weak and fragile.

she extended her legs out and let her arms flop onto her side, all while feeling frail.

her lashes caught her tears as best as they could but they still consumed her face. her hiccups had disappeared and her breath was sluggish while her eyes were drooped as tears continuously flowed down her face. her blinks had become slower and less frequent.

she knew she had to get up and go to her room. she knew she had to take off her coat. she knew she had to take off her slippers. she knew she had to go meet the stuffed penguin upstairs. she knew all of these things, but everywhere she looked she was reminded of her break up.

lauren had been sitting on the floor for a while now. not even a while, a long time. such a long time that she could hear her parents car pulling up in the driveway.

she heard her mom's laughs and her dad's steps approaching the door but she couldn't get up. she was stuck. stuck on the floor with nonstop tears still abominating her face.

she could hear her parents laughing not even meters away. she could hear how much fun they were having just being together opening a door.
