ADALYN POV•

My head was throbbing painfully as if I've fallen from a tall building headfirst but still somehow survived. Not the best feeling I tell you.

I tried to raise my arm but was unsuccessful as they were bound tightly behind me. It took a while for me to remember what exactly happened.

I was following the girl who told me she was taking me to the safe house. I was sceptical about her in the starting but then we talked a bit and I lowered my guard. So when I least expected it she hit me hard on the head with a stone. Her face that looked much different than before as skin started peeling put and wrinkles marred her face as if she's aged hundred of years was the last thing I saw before losing my consciousness.

Stupid. I cursed myself mentally when I noticed the place I was in. It looked like a celler. The walls were moulded, sticky green algae covering the walls. It was very stinky here causing me to gag instantly.

Where is this place?

I knew whoever that I followed in the tunnel was not a good person so this place wasn't exactly giving me good vibes.

I was tied up tightly so that I couldn't even move my feet so there was no chance of escaping. The celler I was in was locked with a big iron lock that was nearly as big as my face. They didn't have to get into such lengths to make sure I do not try to escape. I grumbled annoyed.

After about hours that might actually be minutes but felt hours to me, I heard footsteps approaching me.

I knew I Was pretending to be very calm but inside I was feeling anything but calm. How can I when I don't even know why would anyone kidnap me.

"You're awake." A chalky shrill voice came from in front of me that nearly made me cover my ears. Nearly as my hands were still tied so I can't actually cover them.

"Who are you?" I couldn't see clearly in the darkness and the only thing I saw was a silhouette of a short fat person standing on the other side of the cellar.

"Tch. Tch. You will know soon." She tsked without even replying to me.

"Tell the sorceress that she's awake." That voice said to another person that I've just noticed beside her.

"Yes priestess." That person bowed respectfully as they made their way out ignoring my curses. Only the sound of their laughter rang creepily throughout the celler making me more frightened.

"Alpha its a bad news." I was making my way with the pack warriors outside the territory when Alpha Brad mind linked me. He should've known better to contact me when I'm trying to find the scums who caused everything. With my power concentrating in scrounging the area around me, unnecessary interruption make me lose focus.
