•ADALYN POV•

I was huffing lungful of air. Running as if I'm being chased by someone. In my haste to move forward I didn't saw the roots of a giant tree in the way which cause me to fall. I fell face first into the dirt path I've running in. Behind me I heard growling noises as footsteps sounded near and near.

I tried to get up but during my fall I didn't noticed that my ankle have been twisted.

I heard noises in the bush in front of me and I instantly turned in that direction.

What I saw turned my blood cold. At least twenty pair of yellow eyes were looking at me as the noise of growling continued to rise a few more decibels nearly deafening my ears. My whole body is trembling in fear at this point.

"Save me."

Strange voice growled one after another in unison saying the same thing. All that was heard around mw were the pain choruse of 'save me.'

Save whom? I wanted to ask desperately. The noises grew louder and louder until I felt someone grasping my shoulders tightly and shaking me.

Startled I looked up to see a man who's face was shrouded in darkness but his eyes red like ruby shining in the darkness.

"Come to me." He whispered still shaking me. His grip grew stonger and stronger until it became unbearable.

"Come to me." He roared to my face as I screamed loudly at him to let go.

Opening my eyes once again I found myself screaming while shaking violently. Someone was holding my arms while shaking me. I looked up to see Lennox eyes filled with worry as he hugged me tightly while trying his best to sooth me.

"Why am I here? I was somewhere else?" I questioned him in my hoarse voice. He let go of me and poured me a glass of warm water to sooth my throat. I thanked him gratefully as I gulped down the water greedily.

"You were abducted by the witches that probably tricked you into believing they were a pack member." He looked towards me before continuing as if asking for my confirmation. I nodded at him while asking him to continue.

"Even before I got to know that you were no in the safehouse I was trying to locate the witches. So when I knew.." he croaked out the last part while clenching his fist tightly.

I wrapped my palms over his fist as I try to lightly nudge it open.

Taking a deep breath he continued ," when we searched the tunnel and you were nowhere to be found I knew it was connected to the witches." He growled angrily.

"When we finally found you at the clearing you were unconscious and the leader of the cover was slicing your arm." He lightly gazed his palm over arm which was currently wrapped in bandages.
