Chapter 16

"Well, what did you find?"

"Sasuke uchiha is heading this way right now. Not only does he have the eight tails like we asked, but he has the nine tailed jinchuuriki as well."

"I see. Something tells me this us going to be a bit...difficult. What do you say konan?"

The rouge kunoichi stepped out of the shadows, revealing her purple hair and her shiny piercings on her pale, slim face.

"I believe you're right, pain. But for now i advise we see how the events play out."

Sasuke jumped through the trees with a massive pit of anxiety in his stomach. He didnt want to give naruto away, really. But it had to be done.

Dammit. Dammit. DAMMIT. Why didnt i spot the paper earlier! He angrily thought to himself

Flashback~~~~~~~~~~~~

"What now?"

"What do you mean jugo?"

"What i mean is you two have already technically admitted that you like each other, so what are you gunna do about the akatsuki?"

Sasuke leaned on the cave wall and let out a heavy sigh.

"I don't know" he admitted. He looked over at naruto and watched as he was happily chatting with suigetsu and karin. He seemed to say something that made suigetsu and karin turn red, which caused karin to punch both him and suigetsu.

Sasuke couldnt help but to smile at the scene. He noticed jugo studying him out the corner of his eye.

"I think- i think we can let him go..."

Just then, out of the corner of sasukes eye, he saw a piece of paper.

'Paper? What the hell is paper doing in a cave?'

He thought about it a million times over before the idea hit him like a brick.

'Konan. Thats why ive been feeling watched, cause we WERE being watched.' 

If thats been there as long as he thought it had been, then he needed to come up with something, and quick.

"Was that the answer you were hoping to hear jugo?"

The orange heads smile faltered

"What do you mean?"

Sasuke turned towards jugo.

"Im still turning him in."

And with that, sasuke walked away with pain and guilt in his heavy heart.

End of flashback~~~~~~~~

All sasuke could do was head toward the hideout at this point. He saw jugo not to far ahead of him and jumped to catch up. After a couple leaps, they were in sync.

It was quiet as they jumped, with jugo holding naruto and killer b (bet yall forgot about him, cause i sure did😂)

"Are you okay?"

Jugo looked over at sasuke with a smile. "Yes im fine. They're not too heavy to carry..."

"Ah, ok..."

It became awkward for a second befor jugo spoke up again.

"Y'know, i found out why you said what you said."

Sasuke could feel his mouth go dry and his knees go weak as jugo said that.

"It was the only thing i could think of. She already saw a lot, so she knows that we would be lying if we didnt show up with naruto."

Jugo let out a small laugh. "Yep. Konan is one tricky person. Shes too stealthy for my liking."

The raven nodded his head. The pit in his stomach only became worse as he could feel himself getting closer and closer to their destination. Jugo took notice of this, as he was feeling the exact same way. His demeanor was calm, but on the inside he was wailing his heart out, thinking that he might loose one of his closest friends.

Huh, friends...i barely know this kid and im already breaking down over it...

It hadnt been long, but naruto had already made a massive impact of the group. He help jugo come out of his shell more and say what he thinks. Karin got over her obsession of sasuke thanks to him. Suigetsu...is still suigetsu.

But he helped sasuke the most. He always carried this...positive energy along with him that was contagious. He made sasuke smile, which is really a rare feat.

Jugo looked next to him and noticed that sasuke had slowed down, almost to a complete stop.

"Whats the holdup?" Suigetsu asked with some clear venom in his tone.

Sasuke couldn't really blame him though, he hated himself as well for it.

Sasuke's breathing got harder and ragged. He knew he couldn't do this. He didnt want to either. Suigetsu and Karin jumped up to him.

"You cant do it, can you?" The redhead asked.

Sasuke opened his mouth, but shut it, as he didn't want to admit out loud that she was right. All he could do was look at the ground. He was about to say something when he was interrupted by a voice that wasnt from his team.

"It took you guys too long so we decided to meet you here" deidara said while picking something from his teeth. "Oh look! You guys have the nine tailed brat too!"

Now i know ive done this so much now but shoutout to thelonelyloner09, like seriously bro. I could not have gotten this far with all the reads and stuff without you. Ngl i was gunna actually quit but i came back cause i couldnt will myself to leave you here😭. YALL, FOLLOW THIS MAN. He's got some hella good stories too.
