Chapter 18

Sasuke paced back and forth not knowing what to do. They had just been given a deadline to deliver naruto.

"What're we gunna do?" Suigetsu asked in a frustrated voice.

"Theres gotta be something we can do!" Karin sobbed "whats gunna happen sasuke?"

Everyone turned to face him. The pressure was immense. He couldn't think straight. His mind was everywhere. "I don't know." That was the best answer he had at the moment. I'm a pathetic leader...

Jugo spoke up. "I suggest we do what we're told."

"WHAT?" Karin screamed.

"If we want to avoid suspicion, then this is the best course of action." He reasoned

"Sasuke!" Karin whined "you can't POSSIBLY agree with this!"

Sasuke rubbed the back of his neck. "At this point, i think that's the best we can do."

An angry sigh could be heard coming from karin. I hope you know what you're doing, sasuke...

Twigs could be heard snapping as they walked through the forest.

Suigetsu and karin were staring holes in the back of sasuke's head and back.

"We need to come up with a plan." Suigetsu whispered to karin. "To save Naruto."

"What will we do?" She whispered back.

They heard footsteps behind them and felt a hand go on their shoulders.

"I wouldn't do that if i were you." Jugo said. He looked at sasuke, who was walking in front of them with a sad look in his eyes. "This is hurting Sasuke a lot more than you think it is."

Suigetsu stopped in his tracks and slapped jugo's hand off his shoulder. "BULLSHIT! He's doing this for his own satisfaction. Probably to get the akatsuki on his side so he can finally destroy konoha."

"I really thought you were smarter than this, suigetsu." He frowned.

"Excuse me?"

Jugo pushed the two along so they could keep up with sasuke. "Don't you remember that night, Suigetsu. The night we were spying on sasuke and naruto's conversation. Remember how they cried for each other, how they embraced each other as if they were long lost lovers?"

The pair was silent after jugo's question. "I...I remember." Suigetsu let out a laugh. "They looked like they wanted to kiss..."

"Although i wasn't awake during whatever you two are talking about, they DO seem pretty in love, huh?"

Suddenly, they stopped walking. Sasuke slowly backed up, careful to not drop naruto. "Whatever you guys do," he barely whispered "stay. close"

They all stood back to back, sasuke holding naruto close to himself.

Some bushes rustled in the distance and a figure popped out. He wore an orange mask and the akatsuki cloak.

"Ah great," suigetsu said, "its that tobi freak." He began to break the formation when he was roughly pulled back by sasuke. He was about to protest when he saw the look in sasuke's eyes. Fear. And he was muttering something under his breath. "Not safe, not safe here. We gotta run."

What the? Suigetsu thought to himself. Since when did sasuke ever run?

"Shaaa!" Tobi called out. "Can i have the nine tails...please?"

Welp its been a while since i've updated. I literally had to reread my freaking book to get the gist of what i was doing again😪

Hopefully this chapter wasn't TOO sucky. Definitely feels like my writing skills went down the drain. But thats ok, i'll get better.

Anywho, sorry about the short chapter, i'll try to make the next one longer.
