"I don't know..." I say unsure. "It's all good. Don't your mom and dad got the same job?" He asked. I nodded as a reply.
"So we got some alone time then. " he says smirking again. "Let's go."
We walked towards his car. He opened the door for me and gestured me to get in. Something's fishy, I know it he's hiding something. He'd do things he normally wouldn't do. I can't trust anybody at this school with your life. Without a negative outcome.
Why is Chris just sitting here staring at me. I low key enjoyed it but I'm going to play it off. "What are you doing?" I ask. "I just asked you a question. " "Oh... Um... Can you repeat the question." I say salty. "Are you hungry?" Chris says chuckling. "Kind of" I said. "You still like Sonic." He asked. "Yeah. You still remember that?" I say shocked. "Of course. Why'd you say that?" He asked. "After the seventh grade, we fell off and basically avoided me." I said truthfully. Chris grew silent and continued driving avoiding my question.
Breaking the silence he turned on the radio. The Body was on by Wale and Jeremih. I like these types of music. They are underplayed in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I love me some rap. But a lot of these songs just get annoying, you know like you don't have to play the song 59 times throughout the day. As soon as we got to Sonic my song Trap Queen came on. Chris muted the volume. "Why'd you do that?" I say in a whinny tone. "You want you food don't you?" He asked. "But Fetty Wap on." I say. He turned on the radio back on. Immediately I began rapping the verse. " I hit the strip with my trap queen 'cause all we know is bands.I just might snatch a Ferrari and buy my boo a Lamb -..."
Chris turned off the radio by opening his door. I hate him so much right now. I get out walking into the restaurant. I let the door slam in his face. "I should've let you walk." Chris said. "You should've but you didn't. Couldn't I have stayed in the car?" I ask. "So you would rather eat food in the car? Than in here while getting to look at me. It's a two in one plus you ain't even paying." Chris said. He sound like a advertisement with some two in one. "Let me think about that... I'll get back to you." I said. "While you think about that I'll be eating. He says grabbing the food of the counter. "How did you get that so fast?" I asked. " I got my ways... " he says smirking. "Don't get too happy, I'm still not impressed." I said. "OK. So if I eat your food too would you be impressed." He asked. "No. Why you keep threatening my food?" I ask. "It's funny how serious you used to get when we were little..." Chris says. Those were the days. People thought of me as normal, I could run around and play with innocence. I sighed heavily. We sat down in the both and we ate quietly.
In the car I ignored the radio. I drifted my head to the side and closed my eyes.
"Wake up we're here." Chris says. "Trey wake up." He says shaking me violently. I woke up at my house. I showed Chris into my room. I sat on the bed. Chris sat too. I didn't know what to do so I just say there in total silence. "Why you so quiet? You were never like that when we were little." He asked.
He's starting to reminisce about when we were little a lot. "Im not. It's just I don't know what to talk about." I say truthfully. "Really ? We've been friends for 11 years. What you taking 'bout?" He asked. "People change..." I say nonchalantly. "What are you trying to say?" "What I'm trying to say is I feel like after 7th grade and I came out as gay. You started avoiding me." I say truthfully. Chris grew quiet again.
Im so tired of this. I expected this type of stuff from people though. Chris could tell I was irritated. He tried hugging me. I just pulled myself away from him. "What's the matter Trey?" He asks. "Oh. So you awnser what you want to then?" I mumble. Chris extended his arms forwards me. I didn't feel like moving so I just sat there as he pulled me on his lap. "I'm sorry." He whispered.
