Chris sat in the parking lot dialing a number. I sat and waited patiently. Chris started up the engine. "Can you stop at my place? " I ask. He nods. I began calling my mom. "Hello?" She awnsered. She never answered her phone.
"Hey. Are you at home?" I ask.
"Mhh hmm." She replied.
"Just you?" I ask.
"Yeah." She says.
"Alright I'll be there in a few minutes." I say.
"OK. Bye." She says hanging up.
Chris parked his car in the driveway. "Why you park there?" I ask.
"Why not?" Chris says.
"You won't be saying that when my dad get back here." I warn.
"What he gone do?" He asks.
I simply laughed and opened the car door. I got out and rung the doorbell. My mom greeted me at the door. "I missed you." She says. Did you not just see me recently? She pulled into a long ass hug.
"I missed you too." I say as she finally released me from the hug.
I remember to inform her about the field trip. I took the permission slip out and allowed her to look over it as went to get the remainder of my things. I also had took my lotion. Chris' lotion doesn't work for me. "You got a bag I could put my stuff in?" I yell downstairs.
"Check the closet in my room." She replies back.
"Thanks." I say.
I put my clothes and lotion in my bag. I was ready to leave but I stopped when felt my pocket vibrate. I pulled out my phone and looked at the notification. It was a text message from Chris. He was asking where I was. I replied that I was about to leave. He replied saying my dad was outside.
I could've made it if my mama didn't hold me in that long ass hug. I heard the door slam. I hope he didn't see Chris parked in the driveway. "Who's that in my drive way!" He yelled.
"What car?" She asks. "I didn't see one."
"The one right there." He says.
"Show me." I heard my mom say.
The front door slammed open. I grabbed my bag and ran for the back door. I stopped in the alley. I texted him that I was in the alley. Damn! I forgot the slip. The door was locked too. Chris honked at me twice. Breaking me from my thoughts. He's the one that agreed to come here. So Don't be rushing me.
I walked slowly to the car purposely. "Hurry up!" Chris exclaimed.
I got in the car barely closing my door he sped down the alley. "Damn. Can I get in first?" I say. Chris chuckles at me. He sped down the block even faster than he was already going.
"Slow down." I warn.
"What?" He asks. "Did you say speed up?"
His speed increased. I put on my seatbelt and pulled out my inhaler and inhaled long breaths. When he finally slows down I put the inhaler away. He turned into the apartment building's parking lot. He parked and opened the door rushing me again. This bag was heavy.
Chris eventually took the bag from me and placed it on his shoulder. Chris opened the lobby door with his keys. He then swoops me up and ran up the stairs with me in his arms.
"I can walk." I say.
"I know. But you walk too slow." He says out of breath.
He took out his second pair of keys and opened the door. He plopped me on the couch and awaited by the door patiently until he heard a knock. He peeped through the peephole and swung the door open.
