"Intimacy is not purely physical. It's the act of connecting with someone so deeply, you feel like you can see into their soul."
ARJUN
I bet with the money I was looted by my so called cousins and Ayesha, it'd have cleared at least one fourth of decoration expenses.
Huffing in slight annoyance, I pushed the door and entered...my room?
Okay, I paused analyzing the entire set up. The air was whiffed with mild yet strong odor of jasmine, some other flowers decorating the room, the candles in tall glass lanterns littering at specific corner created the sheer warmness to blend with characteristic anticipation for the night.
A pure aphrodisiac ambience to lure your senses.
Everything set aside, my gaze landed on the spell bound beauty sitting on my bed confined under the long veil waiting for me. Locking the door behind, I approached her with slower steps.
I reminded myself once again we'd not consummate tonight.
For many reasons- she had been through a lot the entire day beside the awful incident with that scum, there was hardly few minutes she got to relax. Seriously I wondered with all the nonstop rituals not to forget the emotional phase she must have had to detach from her family and even then there were more rituals we had gone through, unnecessary ones.
It was almost two in the night and the newlyweds were expected to...complete their bond. The hell?
It was not like I was against the idea but it was going to be our first time and I'd want her to feel me freely, abundantly in every second when I...
Anyways, that was the plan. Though the way I could see her fidgeting nervously, the sweet smell of flowers hung around the bed, drifting my nose is making me rethink. The bed dipped as I perched with my right thigh resting, my eyes unblinkingly staring at her. Almost afraid to shatter something delicate, my fingers reached to lift the veil.
'I'm such a lucky man to have this gorgeous beauty as mine.'
My heart was slamming inside my chest to be let out and offered to her, my wife, my Jaan. I smiled remembering this is going to be my new reality. A Beautiful one. I patiently wait for her supporting my head on uplifted hand on my thigh. Letting my eyes remark this moment into unforgettable memory.
Meera finally decides to quench the thirst of my eyes by slowly lifting her gaze at me.
"Hi," she whispers.
I mentally groan this girl would not let my survival in this night easy. How the hell am I supposed to control if she keeps looking at me like I'm the only being in this world. Her eyes filled with adoration, endless...love for me. What did I do to deserve her?
"You should get changed."
I tried to use a conversation to pull my senses out of depth of desire that were rising with every second around her. She barely nodded yet made no attempt to keep her stare away. I'm sure she'd not stop if I make any advances towards her though I wondered it'd be because she was comfortable with proceeding the next step or it'd be a mere duty to her. I loathed the latter option.
My brows crinkled in indignation to see her covered uselessly in glittering expensive jewelries, her beauty was not slaved to rely on this materialism to be expressed. There was no doubt she was stunning still I rather preferred her natural look without makeup and jewels.
As she clearly appeared to be in daze, I reached for her mehndi adorned hand in her lap. Fact to be stated I absolutely dislike the pungent smell of it but like many enlisted things in my life Meera was exception with this. I kissed her knuckles urging her to scoot off the bed, her fingers clamped mine and her eyes lowered in shyness.
