Being told What to Do

Chapter Four

Skylar's P.O.V.

I sit in my room watching the sun set behind the trees.

I've been in my room all day, like literally. I have not left my bed at all. Like Sam said Bella came and went with my food with unshared words. Why is every one treating me like an outsider? The subject about my Father got me excited and happy to see him. Its been way too long.

But what worries me is why he is here. It can't be to just see his only child, because if that was the reason he would have done this a long time ago. Maybe he had finally found Mom, maybe he wanted to rejoin the pack and not be a lone wolf anymore.

What if I am totally wrong?

I set my head down on my pillow agitated that I had waisted a perfectly good day cooped up in my room, the sun was shining and I could have worked on my hunting skills this after noon. Plus I wanted to straighten out the whole Jake thing.

The burning sensation died off a few hours after I had woken up to Sam and Jade in my room.

I still don't understand why they were being so short with me, and why was Jade crying? Jade never cries, its hard to break her. I think back to what I could have done to upset any of them. I hadn't seen them all night, I don't even remember coming home. I just remember that dream like memory and then waking up with Sam and Jade in my room.

Thats it.

I finally decided that I wouldn't get any answers by keeping myself in my room so I decided to leave my room without the permission of my pack. What was the worst that could happen? I creak the door open just a bit and look down the stairs to the living room. I hear voices, Jade, Sam, Dad? He really is home, why hasn't he come to see me? Maybe he just got here.

There is another voice, he's not familiar and I don't scent him in any other way. Maybe he helped Dad run the Hunter's some place else. Maybe it is safe to be known as Michael's only daughter.

I leave my room and enter the hall way. I listen closer trying to find out what they are saying. I walk down one step and come closer to their voices. "We can't just keep her in there for the rest of her life." I hear Bella say with a concerning tone. They are obviously talking about me.

Why would I have to be locked in my room?

"Its for the best, she can't go anywhere near him. Plus she will have Caleb to keep her company." Sam says ignoring Bella. Who's Caleb? I don't know a Caleb.

"What if she refuses to be his mate?" Jade asks joining in on the conversation. "She has no choice, he's the only one that will keep her safe." Dad's voice is soothing and I feel safer with him around. But why are they talking about my future with some stranger with out my permission? Had they forgotten about Jake? Or was that even real?

"I wouldn't continue if I were you." A strange foreign voice whispers. I turn around and find a tall tan blond man standing in front of me leaning on the stairs case. "You might seek information you wouldn't want to hear." He mumbles. I can't tell if he has an accent or not, but he is very cute. His green eyes shimmer changing pupils as he looks over me. "Can I help you?" I ask escaping his gaze and focusing why he is in my house.

"Actually yes, you must be Sky. I'm Caleb." He hums and his voice is like melting butter. So thick and sweet. "Caleb." I repeat back to him noticing the same name that Sam had brought up. Then it all clicks, they want me to be mates with this guy?

 "Dad!" I scream escaping once I knew their plan. I rush down the stairs feeling the strangers nails brush at my arm. I stumble into the living room and run to my Fathers side. "Please don't make me do it. Please." I start to bawl, then I become red and ashamed of my tears in front of the whole pack. "Skylar, please." Dad hums and its just us in the room. I look over his grieving face. He has dark circles in his eyes and he has a beard now. His hair is shorter and he looks nothing like he did when he left ten years ago.
