Chapter 1

It takes a lot of courage, your family left behind

Not knowing as you are going to war if you will live or die.

Sometimes Alfred wondered why people willing to lay down there lives for him. Why was he so special? What made him worth the lives of millions?

Many make this sacrifice, and they fight to keep us free

They're doing it for each of us; there are doing it for me

Alfred likes to label himself as the hero, but in the truth, there were the people who would be far more heroic than he could ever hope to be. The people who truly in their core, believe in freedom and had paid the ultimate price for it. They had given their lives for their country, for him.

Thank you Military, our country's proud of you

We all proud so grateful, for everything you do

Every Veteran's Day he made a point of visiting the local veteran's cemetery of whatever town he happened to be in. To say he was grateful for what they did was an understatement. He was so proud, so incredibly proud.

No matter what some said.

And with our flag a-waving', well. proudly stand and say

Thank you Military, we honor you today

He could stand other nations insulting him, his economy, his politics, even his ways of life.

He will not stand, however, stand someone insulting his military.

They were his people who had been killed not only to protect him but to protect the other nations as well and he would not be having them insult the people who had died for him, his citizens, his children.

The Army and the Navy, the Air Force and the marines

And to our allied forces, and those behind the scenes

Let's not forget our Coast Guards, who protect our homeland too

He had made a point of service in each part of his Military at some point in time. His personal favorite was the Air Force, the truth he would gladly agree to join any part if needed. They risked their lives for him, the least he could do was to fight alongside them.

America is grateful; we give our thanks to you

He was so thankful and so proud.

So why was he crying?
