In an alternate reality where Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark don't end the Hunger Games it is reaping day throughout the 11 districts.
George Davidson is one of the two male tributes from District 3 going to compete in the 80th (male) Hunger Gam...
“George!” I called out, looking around for any sign of the brunette. “I’m sorry George… Please come out, I promise I’m sorry…” I sighed out in defeat, this obviously wouldn’t work. George clearly hated me. Why wouldn’t he? I killed his friend after all, even if it was an accident.
My eyes widened when I emerged through the bushes. There was stuff dumped over the ground around a tree, there were imprints in the dirt that showed someone had walked around this area and sat down at the tree. There was some left over food and containers, as well as a bundled up blanket.
I raised an eyebrow in suspicion as I continued looking around the area. There was another set of footprints too, which made me even more confused. It was a set of footprints, yes, but with large front feet and small pointy back feet. No animal that I’ve ever heard of had footprints like this.
But then I remembered, a mutt was way weirder looking than a normal animal. Something more dangerous. Why else would whoever was here leave essential things such as a blanket and food which could mean the difference between starving to death and surviving. The difference between freezing at night and surviving in the warmth.
The footsteps continued along the path and so I followed them, trying to find whoever had run off, and maybe what they were running from. I froze when the canon suddenly went off twice, and the images of both tributes from District 1 were illuminated in the sky.
I sighed with relief when I saw it wasn’t George, but it confirmed my suspicions that there must be a mutt killing tributes, because there was no way both tributes could have died at the same time thanks to any tribute or tribute teams.
Suddenly I heard a yell from nearby along with an explosion, what scared me was the fact that I recognised the scream. I had heard the voice it came from, memorised the sweet accent which no person from District 4 could possess. The scream had come from George.
Immediately I dropped everything that I had and began running towards the sound. Please don’t be hurt too badly George… Please don’t be hurt too badly. I thought over and over again in my mind as I continued to run. My body was sore, in no way fit enough to be running this much after losing so much energy on the lack of food over the past few days.
Sam POV.
“The storm is right over the arena sir…” Antfrost stated, and I let out a sigh. “Thank you Antfrost, keep track of that and tell me if anything bad happens…” I said warily as I looked over to Foolish who was monitoring all of the mutts we’d released into the arena.
“How are they going?” I asked, leaning beside him and examining the screen which had a red tracker for all of the mutts, and a blue tracker for all of the tributes. “I had released 32 of the mutts around the arena.” Foolish explained, “6 have exploded, but only 2 tributes are dead so far. Both from District 1.”
I nodded at his explanation, about to ask him something else when Punz, another one of the people who worked here, called out to me across the room. “Sam there is a problem.” he stated, pulling up a camera that the audience wasn’t looking at at the moment. “What Punz?” I asked, moving away from Foolish and over to the platinum blond.
He pointed at the camera and I swore under my breath. That tribute from District 3, he’d found a panel from the forcefield that had broken off. Knowing how smart people from that district were he’d be able to escape through the hole in the wall without getting himself electrocuted.
“Foolish, can you send a mutt over to the District 3 kid, he’s poking around in the forcefield.” I stated, watching as Foolish nodded and sent a nearby mutt in his direction. My hand rested on my chin as I watched the creature approach on the camera.
Just after it came into view the tribute spun around and screamed. He wouldn’t have been able to run before it exploded. We watched as the mutt's body grew, and it’s bones glowed from inside of the body.
Then in a quick flash it disappeared, leaving a crater in its place. But George was still there. The tribute had out the panel in between him and the explosion. My face fell into a frown, and I glared at the tribute on the screen.
He was completely unscaved, besides his wide terrified eyes. The only thing that was injured was his right arm. The skin was burning from the explosion and he examined the injured, smouldering, and bleeding limb. George touched the wound and gritted his teeth at the pain.
The brunette ripped off part of the shirt he was wearing and wrapped it around the injury as a bandage, but the wound would definitely get infected. After a few moments his head fell back as he took several deep breaths.
I gritted my teeth and then looked back at Foolish as he spoke again. “We might have another problem Sam…” he muttered, but didn’t speak any more afterwards. He didn’t need to either, everyone in the room had been watching silently and followed his gaze to the holographic map with all of the tribute’s trackers.
But one was missing, George’s tracker had gone out. The explosion must have fried the tracker’s circuits but the tribute was very much still alive. “Send another mutt,” I instructed, but it didn’t get there in time.
The boy from District 3 turned back to the forcefield where he messed around with some stuff before crawling through it. Fuck. “Shut down the games!” I instructed firmly, everyone looked scared at my tone and I glared at them before giving them more instructions.
“If he got out there will be other tributes who can too. Get hovercrafts activated and get them to start rounding up the surviving tributes and bring them back to the Capitol. Get peacekeepers looking for that boy from 3 and kill him. Cut the cameras. Foolish, get rid of the mutts. Now.”
People did, and I sighed before staring at the screen again. Schlatt would have my head for losing a tribute. _________________________________________ 1125 words.
So a lot of people were messaging me asking about Demons and Blackout, because both of them feature demons in them.
I figured instead of explaining it 20 times I'd explain it here.
In Demons:
1. Demons have a human form.
2. They can release scent.
3. Have a developed society in the underworld.
4. Are a lot more powerful & outnumber humans.
5. Humans and demons have a lot of knowledge about eachother.
In Blackout:
1. Humans don't know about demons.
2. As far as Zak and BBH know, BBH is the only demon.
3. BBH looks like this but can walk on 2 pegs and grab stuff and stuff like a human.

Yes this is a screenshot by kinda__cryptic on tiktok.
4. BBH can control lights depending on his mood, lights grow brighter when he's happy and are dimmer when he is sad.
5. BBH is blind, he can't see humans or anything in our world until a human verbally allows him to.
Still haven't decided on what will happen after vampire hunters. This or God's.
