ALEX's POV:

I hate mornings, I'm always so tired, I can't even brush my hair properly. It was just Tuesday and here I was dressing myself for school. This time I put my hair in a bun and didn't even care for makeup.

"You going like that?"

"Do you have a problem with it?"

Sebastian checked me out and nodded in disagreement. I was quite annoyed but it's true, I look awful.

"Mr Scott, do you know the answer?" Shit, I was too distracted with my doodles that I didn't even notice the teacher talking. She looked angrily at Nathan waiting for an answer. This teacher wasn't nice like the English teacher, I also heard some rumors of kids being suspended because of her.

"Sorry what?" Nate answered with a sarcastic tone.

"I was asking if you knew what Homeostasis is.?" He looked straight into her eyes with some devilish smile, before speaking he shrugged his head in denial.

"Yeah I have no idea." Laughter, everyone laughed, why tho? It wasn't even that funny. But Nathan thought otherwise, he looked proud of the reactions the others were having. The only people who weren't laughing were me and the girl from yesterday called Olivia, she looked annoyed at him.

I then noticed he was staring sharply at me, he didn't even care to hide it. I was feeling kinda awkward so I looked over to the front to see a very annoyed teacher in the front.

"Mr Scott to the principal's office. Now."

He gave me a peculiar look and headed out of the classroom.

"Miss Harris, can you please tell me what Homeostasis is?" Oh no, what do I do?

"I-uhm... It's th-"

"Do you think it's funny?" I disagreed. "Not because you are new, less will be expected from you." I nodded.  "I'll give you another chance, do you know what Homeostasis is?"

"I'm sorry, I wa... wasn't listening..." She looked so pissed I swear if it was legal she would kill me.

"Detention tomorrow. And leave my classroom. Now."

Really ashamed, I left the classroom and headed towards my locker, which I was already familiar with, because I have already been there many times.

As I walked by the empty hallway, I couldn't help but wonder why he looked at me like that? Am I being an overthinker and over analyzing situations? Maybe he wasn't even looking at me.

Like this was my last class I went to Seb's car to wait for him.

****

The next day I was in a hurry like any other day. Grabbing the toast I did earlier I rushed to the car where Seb was waiting for me impatiently.

"I love you Alex, but I won't hesitate to leave you behind if you keep taking so long."

"Yeah, yeah. Dad would kill you if you left me behind." I said in a childish way.

He rolled his eyes knowing how dad would always defend and protect me. I was and always will be his little princess.

Class was so boring today I could barely keep my eyes open. Olivia, who was seated next to me, seemed to be really interested in the topic. She answered and corrected all the teachers' questions.  I have a good GPA, but I've never participated or made a huge deal from it. Olivia definitely will be our generation's valedictorian.

"Alex, would you like to hang out with me and my friends?" Olivia was looking at me waiting for an answer. I wasn't sure what to do, I've never had many friends.
