NATE's POV:
Me and my dad have always had a rough relationship. I learned to deal with it and ignored him for almost my entire life. My mom was too busy cheating on him to notice how he treated me.
So when he bought me an apartment and told me I was "Old enough to live alone" I took the opportunity to get the hell away from him. Ever since then I've felt both the emptiness of a missing family but at the same time happiness at being able to avoid him.
I moved in last year (when I turned eighteen), but never fully lived here. I honestly hate it. I love independence but I feel alone. Most of my nights I spend them with friends, hotels, even Olivia sometimes. Her parents like me and always offer me to stay with them. But I don't always stay because that's just weird and sad.
When my dad is out of town, which is at least twice a month I stay over at my house. I think my mom doesn't even realize I moved out. She's stuck in her awful marriage with my dad and she's to blind to see other people's unhappiness.
Right now Alex is watching a marvel movie in my room while I order something to eat. She's the first person I've ever invited over. Not even Olivia knows I "live on my own", she just thinks I fight with my parents and that's why I crash at hers.
She's gotten into my head quite badly, this black haired beautiful girl. I honestly don't know what I'm doing with spending so much time with her. I could consider us friends? But then why have I trusted her with so much shit?
"Nathan come on. The movie started."
I kinda like how she is obsessed with marvel. I like it but never at the point of knowing every movie by hard and correcting me when I confuse Toby Mcguire movies with Andrew Garfield.
"This is Tom Holland's version, so hurry up before I have to explain." I'm pretty sure I've seen this one. But I think she'll explain anyway.
After thirty minutes into the movie the door rings. "I'll get it so you don't miss anything." She yells and heads over to the front door.
"There's money on the counter." I heard her taking the coins I had on a bowl sitting on top of the kitchen counter and then she opened the door. I hear her talking and after a while the door shuts and she walks over back to my room with the pizza box, two plates, two glasses and a big bottle of soda.
She glances over at the tv. "Look RDJ!" I look at the screen and only see Iron man. So I look back at her with an indifferent look.
She sighs annoyed, "RDJ are the first letters for Iron Man's actor real name." She looks with a duh face, and I still don't get it. "Robert Downey Junior."
"Ohh."
"I think I'll have to educate you on the MCU. At least one movie per week." She smiles and I nod.
"Deal." I hand her over my hand waiting for her to shake it.
She thinks for a second and talks again. "I'll even quiz you and everything. If I'm not satisfied with your answers you are buying me..." she pauses "Cinema tickets for marvel for the next two years."
"Two years?!" I exclaim.
"They release like three movies per year so don't preocupate so much. Besides, if you pay attention to the movies you won't lose at all."
"What do I win if I get them all correct?"
"Say something."
I think of something good and just go for it. "We see three movies and then you quiz me. If I answer correctly you let me take you on a date."
