#2 Young Half Demons

Chapter 7: Gathering Up

"What happened?!" I said.

"I saw something out the window pass by." Tom said as he summoned his sword. I summon mine and notice Sean is hiding in the closet. "We can't catch a fucking break from these demons." I said. "Probably because we are new and weak demons, so they target us for fun." Tom added.

"Sean, head downstairs with your parents." I said. "Okay." Sean said as he ran out the closet and down the stairs.

"Max, the demon is down here!" Sean said. "We're on our way!" I said as we ran downstairs.

"What is the meaning of this!?" Sean's father said. "One word, Demons!" I said. "Spiraling Flames." I said as I closed my eyes.

"What is he doing, doesn't he see this, demon, getting closer!?" Sean's father added.

I rush towards the demon, spiraling with flames coming out of my sword, with my eyes still closed.

"Try a bit harder." The demon said as it summoned a double sided sword.

It countered my attack by clashing our swords. I open my eyes and smirk. "Why are you smirking?" The demon said. "You aren't paying attention." I said. "What?"

"Flame Uproar!" Tom said as purple flames rose from the ground. "Don't worry sir, these flames won't hurt you guys nor the house!" Tom added.

The flames consume the demon and I was able to rush and swing at its neck, cutting through it.

"We'll leave, they'll only look for Tom and I." I said. "What the hell was all that!?!" Sean's father said. "Oh right, Tom, Alexander and I turned into demons, but Alexander went rogue and left last night. I tried to get him back but he, didn't need my help." I said as I looked down in grief.

"Hey, Max, don't feel bad, you'll find him, I'm sure of it." Sean's mother said. "But I..." I said right before Sean's mother shushed me. "You blame yourself with too many things, not everything is your fault... not even your parent's... you know what I mean." Sean's mother added.

"Thank you, but we're still going to leave, so you guys won't be in danger." I said. "Take care!" Sean's father said. "And be careful." Sean's mother added.

"I'll be waiting for you guys until you return." Sean said as he waived goodbye.

Tom and I say our goodbyes and fly off and search for more demons, maybe even Alexander.

"So what now?!" Tom said. "I don't know really, just keep an eye out for suspicious people or any demons!" I said.

"You get the feeling that were being followed?" Tom said. We look being us and see nothing. "No, why?" I asked. "I don't know, just a feeling." Tom added.

We continue to fly and see something try to hit us but it missed infront of us. We look down and see a demon holding a spear.

"There's the demon that followed us, sort of!" I said. "Let's get her!" Tom said.

The demon began to sprint, leaving a trail of white light behind her. She ran through people, swearving and maneuvering like a snake.

"Let me summon a new weapon, some daggers." I said to myself.

I summon 8 daggers, four on each hand, and throw them towards the demon. "When did you get daggers!?" Tom asked. "I felt like using them!" I said. As we were distracted, we didn't notice the demon throwing another spear at us and it managed to hit my left leg.

"Dammit..! Wait a minute, it has a..." I said right before the demon pulled me down with the spear having really thin but strong string.

I summon my sword and tried to cut the string, but my sword snapped in 2.

"These strings are sharp enough to cut through any hard element, so don't try it kid!" The demon said, right before removing the spear and summoning more strings to wrap around me.

"Max!" Tom said.

We were now on the floor in an alleyway and I was next to the demon, wrapped in her strings.

"Let him go!" Tom said. "No, I think I'm going to keep him and make him my.... husband!" She said. "What!?!" Both Tom and I said. "The name's Camille, and I really like you to be my husband, but if you deny me, I'll just kill you here along with your friend." Camille said.

"Release me and we can talk about this instead, if you really want me to be your husband." I said. "Okay hubby." Camille said.

"Okay, first off..." I said as I sprinted away and grabbed Tom's arm. "Nice try, but I'm not stupid." Camille said as she still had a string on my leg.

She pulled off my leg, tearing it off and making me fall face first. "Running won't help, so it's either we talk, or I'll kill you." Camille said. "God dammit, fine I'll talk!" I said as I regenerated my leg in an instant. Tom looked shocked when I did that.

"Why do you want me, of all demons or people?" I asked. "Because you're attractive to me, and I may not know your age, but we're demons, we live forever." Camille said. I remembered what Khan said, ...24 years old...

"Listen, Camille, you're attractive as well, but I already have a girlfriend, and I... kind of want to be with her instead." I said. "Oh, I see... you want her instead of me..." Camille said as she looked more murderous than before.

"Camille calm down, we don't want any trouble." Tom intervened. "We just want to find our friend that went rogue."

"Friend... rogue... what do you mean?" Camille said. "Our friend turned rogue because he was born as a demon and received a second ability, so he said he was a dangerous person to many... so he left." I said. "I'm sorry to hear that." Camille said.

"Can I help you find him?" Camille said after feeling bad for us. "Uhh..." Tom said. "Sure, and it be best to look for other demons that could help us." I added.

I noticed Camille was still upset... I had to make up for it but I had to do it later on.

"Can you fly?" I asked. "Yes, I can." Camille said. "Then it be best to be in the air, just to be safe." I said. "Okay." Camille added.

"Let's fly!" Tom said....

As we flew for like an hour, we haven't noticed anything unusual, it felt odd.

"So what type of demon are you!?" I asked. "I'm a Dark Demon!" Camille said. "I see, well I hope we get to see your abilities some day!" I said. "What about you two!?" Camille asked. "I'm a Mind Demon while Tom over there is a Reality Demon!" I added.

"I hope I get to see your abilities aswell!" Camille said.
