Chapter 28: Returning Demon

"I'm back." I said.

Silence filled the room...

"Where were you?" Tom asked. "Khan showed up, so I had to take care of it." I said. "And you didn't need our help?" Tom added. "No, it wasn't even him, it was one of his clones." I said.

I walk past the living room and make it to the kitchen where I grabbed one of Camille's bottle of whiskey and drank a shot. "What's the matter?" Camille asked as she walked in the kitchen. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Well I know you're not drinking just for fun here, so what's the matter?" Camille said.

"Nothing, I just wanted to relax for a bit." I said. "It's about Alexander, isn't it?" Camille asked. I sighed and tilt my head down. "Yeah, it is." I said.

"I know you miss him, we do too, but you've got to move on." Camille said. "Wow, you went from almost forcing me to marry you, to helping me move on from something." I said. Camille smiled and laughed.

"Hey, mind if we join in on the drinking?" Tom asked. "Not at all." Camille said, pulling out two more shot glasses.

As the night went by, both Sean and Tom were drunk and Camille was a bit tipsy from the drinking. Tom was just goofing around, dancing, and singing, while Sean was getting close to passing out.

"You guys are weak to alcohol." I said as I drank another shot. "We get it Max, you don't get drunk easy." Camille said while Tom was singing "Can't Help Falling In Love, by Elvis Presley" in the background.

"You're a lucky girl to have Tom." I said. "You think so?" Camille asked. "I mean he can sing, I didn't know he could." I added.

"Sean, why don't you sing?" I asked. "Because I... am the best singer... and I don't want to show off!" Sean said in a droopy and goofy voice. "C'mon... give it a try!" Tom added with the same goofy voice.

Sean immediately stood up and began to sing "Single Ladies by Beyoncé."

We all laughed and grew tired, so after Sean's performance, we all passed out in the living room. Morning comes and Camille woke up hungover and craving for food.

"Jackson!" Camille said, in a tired voice. "Yes Camille!" Jackson said from across the house. "Can you order us 2 pizzas and some snacks!?" Camille asked. "Sure thing, you'll just have to wait 30 minutes for it!" Jackson added. "That's fine!"

I wake up after hearing Camille yell across the house and saw Tom was sleeping in top of her, and Sean was sleeping next to them. "No wonder it felt cold sleeping here, you guys were huddled up and warm." I said.

Once I stretched my back before standing up, Lance appeared, standing by the stairs to the second floor. "Max, there's something you need to know about." Lance said, as he signaled me to follow him upstairs. I proceeded to follow him to a locked room that only he had the key to.

"Before you ask about this room, just know, all of you aren't allowed in here, it's for your safety." Lance said as he unlocked and opened the door. "I understand." I said, kind of nervous on why we aren't allowed in here.

My heart sank and my stomach felt like a tied knot.

"Lance, what are these pictures?" I said, shakened to what I was looking at. "Alexander was never here with you this entire time, it was a clone of himself." Lance said. "These pictures are the innocent people he's murdered, but not by his own hands, he has demons working with him."

"It can't be." I said as my head began to feel like its spinning. "Wait a minute, I recognize that symbol next to that corpse in the picture." I added, as I grabbed the picture.

"That's what I've been trying to figure out what they meant." Lance said. "They?" I asked. Lance grabs 11 other pictures that had a different symbol, each looking oddly familiar.

"Wait, these symbols, they... I know who's working for Alexander now." I said, realizing who they were. "Who are they?" Lance asked. "Special kinds of demons, they're very powerful." I added.

"Also, how did you get all of this?" I asked. "Everytime you leave, he leaves too, he just makes it back before you, so I followed him." Lance said. "I see, but how did you manage not to get caught?" I asked. "It wasn't easy..." Lance said.

I exit the room with Lance right behind, locking the door and I made my way to Tom and Camille. "Hey lovebirds, meet me where we saved Sean." I said. "For what, did you leave something there?" Tom asked. "Yes, and I shouldn't have pushed them away." I added. "Them?!" Tom said.

I walk out of the house and began to fly to that location.

"Why would he lie to us...?" I said in my head. "I don't understand why..."

"Max!!" Camille yelled as both of them tried to catch up to me.

"Why are we headed back there?" Tom asked. "I'll tell you once we get there." I said. "If it's about me almost killing Sean by teleporting far from him while fighting the Zodiacs, I'm sorry about that." Tom added.

"You got one part right, but I'll explain once we get there." I said.

20 minutes later and we arrived at the exact same spot I launched the Zodiacs away from us.

"His blood stain is still there." I said as I was pointing at the spot where Taurus died.

"So, why are we here?" Tom asked. "Alexander... is still alive." I said. "Is this a prank?" Tom asked. "No, the Alexander we were with was a clone, and the real one has the Zodiacs working for him." I added.

Tom bursted into laughter... "Tom, this is serious, don't you see how distraught Max is?" Camille said after smacking him in the head. "Sorry, it wasn't funny." Tom said.

"Indeed, it is not funny." A low voice said from behind. "Yeah, not funny!" Another voice added.

We turn around and see we were face to face with Leo and Cancer.

"Water prison!" Cancer said as he summoned water and formed it as a dome, just like Draco's.

"Why are you back here?" Leo asked with a growl, showing his sharp teeth. "That's none of your concern." I said. "This is our territory, so spill it before i spill your guts out on the floor." Leo added.

"Push!" I said, breaking the water dome. Camille quickly wrapped her strings on both of them, making them immobile.

"These strings are nothing Camille." Cancer said. "Shut it Cancer." Camille said. Cancer breaks free from the strings and charged at Camille, lifting them both into the air, and releasing Leo.

"Let's have some fun!" Leo said. "Fire Fists!" Leo added, as his fists began to emit fire.

"Flame Fists!" Tom and I said, both emitting purple and blue flames from our fists. "Copy Demons, this will be easy." Leo said. "That's where you're wrong, we aren't Copy Demons." I said right before I bolted to Leo.

Right before my fist made contact with him, he jumped into the air and slammed back down on me, breaking my entire rib cage. I coughed out blood and Tom immediately charged at Leo.

"Reality Swap!" Tom said, making himself appear behind Leo. Tom managed to kick Leo straight on the left side of his chin, launching him off of me.

"You okay?" Tom asked as he helped me back up. "I'm fine, I'll just heal myself." I said, but right before I could heal, Leo was charging right towards us. "Fiery Serpent!" Leo said, summoning a large snake made of fire headed right towards me.

Tom quickly pushed me so he could take the hit, but I quickly teleported him to me right before he was hit.

"You're quick, but not quick enough!" Leo said.
