~Eden's POV~

When I got home from work later that day, Silas glanced up as I entered the apartment, still lounging on the couch where I had left him this morning. How he was still just sitting there was beyond me, but Silas had always been that way.

I shut the front door behind me and raised a brow as I eyed him, beginning to stroll into the living room. It didn't look like he had even moved from the spot he was in, from what I could tell. "Have you done anything except watch TV today?" I asked Si, placing my hands on my hips as I looked down at him, standing beside the couch. He looked up at me, giving a simple shrug of his shoulders before he muted the movie that was playing on the TV so we could talk. "No, not really." He confessed, to which I huffed and sent him a frown. "You are such a bum sometimes." I scolded him with a shake of my head, kicking off my shoes before I carried them to my room and tossed them on the floor.

After I had put my shoes up I returned to the living room, taking a seat on the opposite end of the couch that Silas was sitting on. "How was work today?" Si asked me, keeping the TV muted. I stretched my legs out on the couch, facing him as I raised my arms over my head and groaned. "It was fine." I shrugged, sighing heavily as I relaxed into the cushions. "Same as usual, just selling cookies, you know." I muttered. It was just a bakery shop, after all, so nothing exciting ever happened.

He hummed and cocked up a brow, looking back at the TV. "What days do you work the rest of this week, since I start up working again in two days?" He wondered, causing me to bite my bottom lip in thought as I tried to remember what days. Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with having a consistent work schedule at all. Benjamin would often call me to come in at random times, and if I tried to argue that it was my day off then he'd get a little bit snippy with me, so I always ended up going in regardless. Otherwise, my days for work were just rocky in general.

"Um, I think I have to work on Thursday and then also on Sunday, but that should be it for this week." I told him, glancing at him from the corner of my eye. He nodded his head, showing that he was listening to me. "Okay, then I'll have to drive you to work, because I think you usually have to go in before I do." Si stated, to which I furrowed my brows and frowned at him. "You don't have to start early in the mornings?" I asked, slightly confused. Considering the fact that he had gotten his degree in engineering and was evidently going to be going into the manufacturing engineering field, I had just sort of assumed that he'd have to go in even earlier than I did, since I only worked at a fricking bakery.

"Nah." He responded with a shake of his head. "I start at eleven AM, so I definitely start later than your shifts." He said, running a hand through his dark hair. I nodded my head, biting on the inside of my cheek as something occurred to me then. "Well, what about when I get off? Are you going to pick me up?" I asked him, furrowing my brows.

Silas pursed his lips, looking away in an awkward manner that told me he was trying to avoid my gaze, and unfortunately he did so successfully. "Well.." He trailed, pitching his voice slightly higher as he rubbed the back of his neck. I narrowed my eyes at him and he cleared his throat, still avoiding looking at me. "I kind of won't be getting off of work until really late at night, so I highly doubt I'll be able to pick you up when your shift ends." He told me.

A pout formed on my lips. "So I have to take the bus home again?" I asked, not quite wanting to do that again if I could avoid it. Taking the bus, as I'd said, wasn't necessarily the worst thing in the world but I also would've preferred not to.

He paused and rubbed his chin, a contemplative furrow in his brows as he tried to think of a solution that would suit the both of us better. "If you don't mind, then I guess I could see if Jagger would be okay with picking you up after. He has pretty much the same hours as you do, except he just starts a little earlier and then ends a little earlier." Silas suggested to me, cocking his head to the side slightly as he tried to gauge my face for my reaction, wanting to see what I thought of his solution. Though I hesitated at first, I eventually gave a slight shrug of my shoulders and fiddled with the soft fabric of my pants. "I don't mind, but I don't want to be a bother to him." I said.

Smiling in amusement, Si shook his head and smacked one of my outstretched legs. "It's Jagger. If he thinks it'll be a bother or he just doesn't want to, then he'll say so when I ask him about it." He assured with a dismissive wave of his hand, grabbing the remote to the TV before I could respond. Then he unmuted the TV and went right back to watching the show on the screen, having nothing more to say on the matter.

So I decided to do the same, pushing the thoughts of work to the back of my head as I focused on the show instead.
