~Jagger's POV~

It was late at night when my phone began to ring, causing me to sigh in annoyance as I slid from my bed and walked over to the little ledge built into my wall across from my bed, where I'd left my phone at earlier.

I'd been expecting it to be something work related, but my heart skipped when I saw Eden's familiar contact name on the screen. For a split second I just stared at the screen, wondering if I was imagining it, but then I quickly accepted the call. "Eden?" I spoke into the phone the second that I accepted the call, perhaps sounding a little bit too excited but I didn't care. I hadn't really been able to see her or hear her voice for almost two weeks now. Maybe I was clingy, but I missed her.

"No, it's not Eden." Silas' familiar voice answered my question after a moment, causing me to frown slightly. Disappointment hit me and I couldn't help it when I sighed heavily. "You had to call me from her phone, really? I thought it was her and got my hopes up." I said grumpily, plopping down on the edge of my bed. He just huffed. "Well, I doubt that you would've answered if you knew it was me. It's not exactly like we left things on good terms the last time that we saw each other." He pointed out, to which I snorted and rolled my eyes at the obviousness of his statement. "Wonder why that is." I said flatly.

Silas scoffed in irritation, probably not liking the fact that I was giving him attitude. "You don't get to do that, man. Don't think I'm some kind of asshole here because I'm not. You fucked my little sister and lied to my face for months, so if you're expecting an apology for me punching you a couple times, then you're not gonna get one." He told me. I just waited patiently for him to finish speaking, staring down at the floor with my jaw clenched.

"I'm not expecting you to apologize. In many ways, I understand why you're pissed and I don't blame you, but that doesn't excuse anything. You're treating Eden like she's a child, like she's too young and stupid to decide things for herself. If you don't fix that shit, then you might lose the only family you have left, Si." I warned him, and I couldn't help but to be surprised when he didn't immediately start getting defensive at my words, like I'd expected him to. No, he just sighed instead.

"I know." He agreed reluctantly. "That's the only reason why I'm inviting you over tomorrow for dinner."

**

I stood outside of Silas and Eden's apartment the next day, wanting to knock and yet unsure how this night was even going to go. Silas was my best friend and had been for over ten fucking years, but I still felt anxious.

As I stood there, just staring at the front door, I felt a small hand brush against my back. I spun around and my eyes fell on Eden's short, curvy figure as she peered up at me through her lashes. She looked as fucking beautiful as ever, the long strands of her dark black hair falling down her back in loose waves. There was a brown hair scarf with big blue flowers on it that she had wrapped around the top of her head, dark strands of hair framing her face while the rest were kept back.

She wore a pair of blue pants with yellow and brown sunflowers on them, a yellow crop top that buttoned up the front, looking too tight around her large breasts. Over the crop top she wore a long-sleeved blue cardigan with little yellow flowers embroidered onto it, the sleeves long enough that they covered up to her fingers.

"Jag?" Eden giggled softly and pushed up on her toes to give me a hug, my arms wrapping around the soft curve of her waist as she buried her face into my shirt clad chest. I hoisted her up into my arms and hugged her closer, a soft sigh of content slipping from my lips when I pressed my face into the crook of her neck, surrounding myself with her coffee scent. "I missed you." I murmured into her neck, smiling when she laughed and threaded her fingers through my hair so as to pull my head back in order to look me in the eye. "I missed you too, but what are you doing here? Si will be mad if he sees you." She said with obvious confusion, causing me to frown slightly. I guess Silas hadn't bothered to give her a heads up that I'd be coming over today.

"Actually, he invited me to come over for dinner tonight." I told her, watching as she blinked her big crystal-like eyes and her full lips parted in surprise. "Really?" She asked, probably finding that hard to believe considering he hadn't even wanted to so much as speak to me since he caught us.

Eden grinned widely when I nodded my head, placing a cheerful kiss on my chin and then my cheek, but I wasn't content with that. I grabbed her by the back of her neck and slanted my lips over hers, loving the way that her fingertips curled tighter around the messy strands of my hair when I did. She clamped her thighs tighter around my waist and moaned softly when I bit down on her bottom lip, opening her mouth to allow my tongue to slip inside. Wanting to taste her on my tongue, I slid my tongue into her mouth and felt my cock twitch as my hormones began to get the best of me, forcing me to break the kiss. "Fuck." I swore quietly, reluctantly setting her on her feet.

She glanced down when I adjusted my pants and an amused smile formed on her pretty mouth when she noticed my erection, playfully brushing her fingers against it when she slipped past me to unlock the front door. I growled and roughly smacked her ass, displeased with her teasing, and stepped away to calm myself down before I went inside with her.

The second that she and I stepped through the front door together, Silas came walking down the hallway from his room and into the living room. I felt Eden's side press against mine as she clung to me and, despite the slight glare that Si narrowed his eyes into, he didn't say or do anything. I'd expected him to get more pissed off, but I wasn't complaining. It seemed as though he was seriously trying to get used to this new relationship between Eden and I, which was all that either of us really wanted. Eden seemed especially pleased by that, though, because she had to bite down on her bottom lip just to stifle a cute grin.

"Well," Silas began hesitantly, glancing back and forth between her and I. "Eden, could you go get the food from out of the kitchen? I need to talk to Jagger." He said, to which she pouted slightly but reluctantly left to do as he'd asked. His eyes flicked back to meet mine and I crossed my arms, knowing by the look that crossed his face that he meant business when he spoke.

"You know I don't like this. Quite frankly, I feel a little bit uncomfortable with it, but.. I know you're right. I have to stop babying her, so I'm not going to try to keep you guys apart anymore." Silas said, and he lowered his voice when he spoke next. "But if you ever hurt her, then that's it. You're out of both of our lives." He told me, speaking low enough for only me to hear.

I just smiled slightly and glanced at Eden as she ran about in the kitchen, looking flustered as she tried to plate the food quickly. "I won't." I said with certainty, because I knew I wouldn't. I'd have to be an idiot to ever do something that could make me lose her.
