~Eden's POV~
I hummed as I left Crumbl Cookies once my shift was over the next day, scanning my eyes over the parking lot in search of Jagger's car. When I spotted him parked in the left side of the parking lot, I hurried over to his car and hopped in the passenger's seat.
Jagger glanced over at me when I buckled my seatbelt, slipping his phone into his pocket. "There you are." He murmured. "I was just about to text you." He told me, watching me as I set my purse on top of my bare thighs. I gave him a small smile and stretched out my legs, crossing my converse covered feet as I adjusted my seatbelt so it wasn't almost strangling me. "Sorry, Benjamin can be kind of whiny if I don't wipe off the counter before I leave." I explained, to which he just shook his head and began to reverse out of the parking space. "Yeah, I'm sure that's certainly a way to put it." He sighed.
Glancing over at him, I fiddled with the red hair-tie I had wrapped around my wrist. "How was your day today?" I asked, noticing that he seemed a little bit more moody than usual, judging by his tone anyway. He just shrugged a single shoulder, eyeing me from the corner of his eye for a brief moment. "It was fine. Si was just being an annoying ass last night, so I ended up not getting very much sleep." He told me. I felt a little sorry for him, because I knew that meant Silas had probably been chatting the poor guy's head off the entire night, and probably about absolutely nothing. "That sounds like Si." I agreed, snorting softly.
We fell into a comfortable silence for the remainder of the car ride, mostly because I didn't want to bother him, especially when he was already tired. I didn't want to make it worse, so I just kept quiet, looking out the window.
When we arrived at Silas and I's apartment complex he parked in the parking lot, hopping out of his car with me to walk me up to my apartment. I glanced up at him as we took the elevator together, his large body standing beside my much shorter one, and noticed that he looked like he was about to fall asleep standing up. Silas must've really not let him get very much sleep, it seemed.
The elevator doors opened once we reached my floor, causing me to stare at Jagger as he tiredly fluttered his eyes open and then looked down at me when he noticed that I was staring at him. "Sorry." He muttered, one hand rubbing over his face while he walked out of the elevator before me, leaving me to trail after him. "That's okay, you don't need to apologize." I assured, my fingers fiddling with the fabric of my white tee with red ringer sleeves. We arrived at the door of my apartment and I slipped in front of him to unlock the door, glancing over at him once I had gotten it open.
"Are you sure you can make it home, Jagger? You look really tired." I told him with a concerned frown, turning to face him. He grunted and gave me a smile, rubbing a hand over his eyes, likely in attempt to wake himself up more. That just made me even more worried. What if he got in a car crash because he fell asleep at the wheel?
"I'll be fine." He said, going to turn away from me until I grabbed at the front of his shirt, stopping him. He looked down at me, gray eyes meeting my gaze. "You practically fell asleep standing up in the elevator." I responded, forcing him to turn back towards me. I released my hold on his shirt, realizing that it was probably a little bit too forward of me to grab him like that. "It's fine, birdie. I've survived on far less hours of sleep than this." He claimed, to which I placed my hands on my hips and frowned up at him. I didn't like that excuse at all.
"That doesn't matter. You could still get in an accident, Jagger." I huffed, to which he frowned right back down at me and crossed his muscular arms over his chest. "At least just come in and take a nap until Silas gets home. Then I can show him that he needs to let you sleep unless he wants to come home to you napping in his bed more often." I insisted, earning a snort from him.
"If I do that, will you stop acting like my mom?" He asked, raising a brow. Offended, I reared my head back and furrowed my brows. "I am not acting like a mom!" I exclaimed, a warmth flooding my cheeks when he just stared at me with a look on his face that told me he disagreed. "Fine." I huffed, stepping to the side. "I won't bother you if you do this." I agreed, gesturing for him to enter the apartment. He did so, his broad frame looking even bigger when he had to sort of angle his shoulders just a bit to get passed me and into the apartment. I quickly tried to press myself even further away from him, his scent of leather and vanilla wafting into my face when he moved by me.
"How far even is your place from here, anyway?" I asked as I shut the door behind us, locking it. I had never really considered if he had to drive far or not before, so I never asked. He glanced at me over his shoulder, his hands in the pockets of his pants. "Probably about twenty minutes." He murmured, turning to face me.
I cleared my throat and shifted slightly, pulling my shorts with red, yellow, white, and dark green vertical stripes down so that they weren't riding up so high. "This way." I said, leading him down the hallway towards Silas' bedroom. We reached Si's bedroom and I opened up the door, my jaw dropping when I saw the state of it. "Oh, my god!" I could've cried at how messy it was. Jagger came up behind me, placing his hands on either side of the wooden doorframe. "What is it?" He asked, tiredly leaning into me from behind as he looked into the mess that was Silas' bedroom.
"His room is a freaking pigsty!" I huffed, slamming the door shut out of irritation. I couldn't believe that he had let his room get so dirty, especially so quickly. He hadn't been home even an entire month yet!
Jagger chuckled, the feeling of his chest against my back finally dawning on me when I felt the warmth of his breath fan my cheek when he laughed. I squeaked and jerked forward, pressing my back against the door as I turned around to face him. "U-Um," I cleared my throat as he stared down at me, the muscles in his biceps flexing from where he still had a grip on either side of the doorframe. "His room is kind of...unfit to sleep in right now, to say the least." I told him, biting on my lip when he just stared at me some more.
"W-Would you prefer my room, instead?" I offered, not wanting to make him sleep in Silas' filthy freaking bedroom. I wasn't even sure how Silas slept in there, and it was his room. There was no way I was going to make someone else sleep in that mess.
"Birdie, I'll take literally anything. I'm fucking tired." He muttered, to which I nodded and ducked under his arm, leading him back down towards my room. He followed me quietly, not having to be told anything when I opened my bedroom door before he kicked off his shoes and walked over to my bed, flopping onto it with a content groan. I looked at him, deciding to keep the lights off when I walked over and gently tugged at the blankets that he was laying on top of. "At least use the blankets, dummy." I told him softly, causing him to grunt and roll onto his back to look up at me.
After I managed to pull the blankets from under him, Jagger looked up at me, scanning his gaze over me. "Your bed smells nice." He murmured tiredly, his eyelids fluttering as he was on the verge of sleep. My face warmed at the odd compliment, standing once he pulled my blankets over himself and seemed to be falling asleep now. I kicked off my converse and then silently left, shutting my bedroom door so as not to disturb him. Before I left, I glanced back at my bed, where I saw that he was already asleep, now laying on his stomach with his cheek buried within my pillows. I couldn't help but to notice how small my bed looked with him in it, nor could I help myself from noticing how handsome he was even when asleep.
I shook my head and turned, heading down the hall towards the living room.
