~Eden's POV~

It was almost ten PM when Silas finally got home from work, and Jagger was still sound asleep in my room. I looked over my shoulder when I heard him come in the front door, my brother's eyes almost immediately flicking over to me as he took notice of my presence in the living room.

"What are you still doing awake? I thought you'd be asleep by now, or at least in your room." He asked after he had locked the door again, making his way over to me. I crossed my arms over my chest and stared up at him, raising a brow. "Well, my bed is currently occupied, so I'm awake." I said, which only caused him to narrow his eyes at me as he digested my words. "The hell does that mean?" He asked. "You better not have some guy over." He added before I had a chance to respond, suddenly rounding the back of the couch. I hopped up and hurried after him when he began down the hall, grabbing the back of his shirt as I dug my heels into the floor. "Stop! It's just Jagger, he's sleeping!" I hissed, not wanting my idiotically overprotective brother to disturb him any more than he had for the past twenty four hours.

Silas paused outside of my bedroom door and looked down at me, now just looking completely confused. "Huh? What is Jagger doing here? I thought he went home after he dropped you off." He asked, following behind me when I dragged him back into the living room. I huffed and sent Si a look over my shoulder, narrowing my eyes into a glare when I sat down on one end of the couch and he sat on the other end. "Well, maybe he would have if you hadn't kept him up all night last night babbling at him like an idiot." I scolded, crossing my arms over my chest. "The poor guy looked like he was about to pass out on the way here, so I told him to just stay and nap."

"And by the way, your room is a fricking mess, Silas. What on earth did you do?" I added, cocking up a brow at him expectantly. His eyes widened and a sheepish look formed on his face, probably not expecting me to know about how horrible his room looked. "Um..." He trailed off, looking away from me. "Nothing." He said simply, trying to play it off casually. I scoffed and rolled my eyes, giving him a flat look. "Yeah, if by that you mean you just let your room become a pigsty, then yes I'd agree. You did nothing." I responded flatly. "You better clean your room soon, because the last thing I want is for your disaster to attract bugs." I told him with a huff. I'd lived with Silas for long enough to know by now that if he didn't clean it soon, then it would lead to that. There was no debate in the matter of whether it would or wouldn't.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." He groaned, dismissively waving his hand at me as he stood from the couch. "You'd think I was the younger one here, not you." He grumbled, causing my lips to twitch up in amusement.

Si walked around the back of the couch and I cocked my head to the side as I followed him with my eyes, frowning. "Where are you going?" I asked him, not bothering to move from my spot on the couch. He glanced at me over his shoulder, continuing down the hall. "To wake up Jagger. He can take his ass home." He told me, causing me to shake my head and purse my lips, but I didn't try to stop him. It was getting late now anyway.

I waited on the couch until Si and Jagger came wandering back into the living room, Silas practically having to drag along his barely awake best friend. "It's late, J." Silas told him, handing Jagger his shoes that he'd picked up off my bedroom floor. "Exactly. Can't I just stay the night?" Jagger groaned, his brown hair sticking up slightly from sleep. For a moment I just watched the two of them, not saying anything because it wasn't my place to jump in and provide my opinion, especially because this had nothing to do with me. This was between the two of them.

After a pause that just consisted of the two of them looking at one another while Silas seemed to be thinking it over, my brother eventually let out a huff. "Okay, you can stay the night, but you'll have to sleep on the couch. Eden would kill me if I made you sleep in my pigsty of a room, as she so nicely called it, and I doubt you'd want to share a bed with my little sister, so you're on the couch." Silas said, shooting me a little glare when he mentioned what I'd said.

Jagger glanced over at me and our eyes met, the intense stare of his gray eyes making my face warm slightly. "But anyway, I needed to talk to both of you at the same time anyways, so I guess it's not the worst thing that you ended up staying here once you picked up Eden." Silas added, causing the both of us to immediately look at him with furrowed brows, wondering what he could need to tell the both of us.

Taking a brief look over at me, Silas led Jagger over to me and sat down on the end of the couch while Jagger sat beside me. I curled my legs up beneath me on the couch and frowned as I leaned forward, unable to see my brother around Jagger's incredibly broad frame. "So, I'll be leaving for a business trip on Friday afternoon." He told the both of us, causing me to cock up a brow when he diverted his gaze to me primarily. "And I'll be gone for probably two months at most My boss is traveling across seas because there's a new building being built in Greece, I think, and he wants me to come along to help sort everything out." He added on, but I just stared at him with a confused frown on my lips. I didn't understand why this was so important that he needed to have us sit down together for him to tell us. Silas seemed to see this and, thankfully, decided to cut right to the chase.

His eyes flicked over to Jagger. "Basically, I want Eden to stay with you while I'm gone."
