"Prom?" Tristan asked.

"Yup." she said, waiting for his reply but he said nothing.

Silence.

"You know what it was a stupid question. You don't have to-" she said, trying to hide her embarrassment.

"No, no." he said, stopping her. "I want to." he said, nervously.

"What?" she asked, a small grin starting to form.

"I'll do it. I'll take you to prom, Mary." He said, now smirking, feeling more confident.

"Well you know, it won't just be me." She said, her grubbing getting wider.

"What do you mean?" He asked, confused.

"Paris." She chuckled.

"What about her?" He asked.

"How much of what I heard did you actually hear Tristan?" She asked him.

"Apparently not all of it." He said.

"Well, what I was asking you, was whether you would mind taking both me and Paris to the Chilton prom." She explained.

"Hmm." He said, and let out a long breath. "Well, Mare, if that's what it takes for me to take you to the prom, I'm in." He said, with his signature smirk.

"Alright then, I'll tell Paris she has a date." She said, with her goofy grin. Yay.

"We." He told her. "Tell Paris that we have a date. I'm not going if it's just her." He said.

"Ok I'll tell her that then." She said laughing.

"Ok so when is this... very, very, very late, prom?" He asked.

"Saturday." She told him. "That works for you right?" She asked.

"Yup. It works." He told her.

"Ok so we can figure out rides and stuff later then?" She asked.

"Yup, that sounds good." He said. "Hey, are you free right now? Me and my roommate are gonna go to the pub soon, do you wanna join?" He asked.

"Uh, actually I kinda have a friend coming over soon, so I can't..." she said.

"But you'll let me know if you end up coming after all?" He asked. "We'll probably be there late." He said and they both shared a laugh.

"Yup, I'll let you know." She said.

"Ok. So I'm guessing you probably changed my name on your phone right?" He asked.

"Of course." She said laughing.

"Well, Tristan DuGray is a very boring name Mare." He told her.

"It's your name. And either way, that's not what it says." She told him.

"Really? Then what does it say?" He asked.
