"Um. Thanks..." I say trying to get a grip and stay above the water.
"Uh, your welcome." She says back doing the same.
I swim over to the shore and can hear her follow. Thankfully she took off my sweater before jumping in so I have something to put on. I walk up to where we were sitting and take off my shirt leaving me in just a bra. I turn to Lizzie and make sure she got out of the water ok. She spots me and turns away. Weird. I grab the sweater and pull it over my head, flexing my abs in the process.
"Holy shit." She says under her breath, probably hoping I couldn't hear her. I clearly did. I raise my eyebrow at her in confusion letting her know she's busted.
"Sorry." She says. "I just didn't expect that at all." I look at her still confused.
"You didn't expect what?" I say, fixing my sweater to make it more comfortable.
"Your umm... abs." She smirks a little embarrassed.
"Oh, yeah. I work out a lot. Usually whenever I can to give my mind a break."
"Mhmm. I can tell." She spits out. I blush and go to pick up the blanket. I observe her body and see her shivering with goosebumps all over. I walk towards her and wrap the blanket around her to keep her warm. She looks at me and her eyes say thank you as we walk back to my house.
I can not believe that I just kissed Elizabeth Olsen. What an insane day. We continue walking and as we approach the door I rush ahead to open it for her. I'm not going to lie, it's a bit awkward and the silence is killing me.
"Y/n." She blurts out.
"Yeah?" I say relieved at the silence break.
"Can we talk for a minute please?" She asks.
"Of course we can. Do you want to change your clothes first?"
"Um actually. That's kind of what I wanted to talk about." She says. Oh god. This is where the dream ends. I knew it was too good to last.
"Oh ok." I sit down on the couch and she follows, sitting opposite to me on the coffee table.
"I'm just gonna say it. I don't think it's a good idea for me to stay here anymore. I'm sorry." And there it is. The bomb I knew was gonna drop has finally come.
"Lizzie if it's about what happened earlier I total-"
"It's not." She cuts me off.
"Alright then. Your mind is clearly made up. I hope it wasn't anything that I did because I would hate the thought that I made you uncomfortable. Just so you know, my door is always open and you can stay whenever you like for as long as you need."
"Thank you y/n. It wasn't anything you did. I should get going now. It was lovely to meet you and I had a fun day."
"It was nice to meet you too. Do you have a ride?" I ask.
"They should be arriving any minute now, thanks. I'll just wait outside." She puts the blanket down and heads to the door. "Oh right. I can have your clothes delivered back to you tomorrow. You can just keep mine. Goodnight." She says and walks out the door.
I stand in silence not moving an inch. What the hell just happened. Twenty minutes ago we were swimming and having a grand old time, and then she just leaves. Honestly, I should have expected it. She is a celebrity and all. I can't believe I started to catch feelings that fast. That's never happened to me before.
I hear a noise and it snaps me out of my head, thoughts still roaming. I see the reflection of car lights on my wall and realize she's leaving. I didn't get her phone number or anything which means I definitely won't see her again. It was a nice dream while it lasted.
