Chapter 7

Today I woke up feeling confident, I was going to Mrs kings today and request for that loan, and I just have a good feeling about today, maybe because it's Tuesday and Tuesdays are good days.

But nonetheless, I am doing this and nothing is stopping me.

I Took my bath and did a very light make up.

I put on a shiffon top and a black palazzo pants with black heels.

Even if I was just a messanger, I could still play drees up right?.

I take my bag and the keys to my old matrix car and set to work, 

Stopping at my regular cafe joint, I order two takeout coffee for myself and Rosie and drove straight to the fashion house.

After parking, I step in to see Rosie pressing away on her iphone 11 and laughing to no one in particular.

"Hey you"

She finally lifted her head from her phone and her face lit up in a smile

"Someone looks extraordinarily gorgeous today"

"Oh come on, I dress like this everyday"

" Yeah right, you never put on heels mama, are you going on a date after work ?"

"Nope, not at all"

Her smile suddenly changed to a scowl 

" You really need a boyfriend Vee, you are getting old"

I just had to laugh, I was practically the youngest in this office, Rosie is about 3 years older than me and I am getting " old"?

" If I'm old then you are already granny missy ...is the boss in?"

"yes she is , she came in pretty early and asked of you"

Way to go Rosie she skips the important message and starts with me getting old

" Oh my God Ro and you are Just telling me this?"

" I was, I was just carried away by your outfit"

I drop her coffee on her table giving her the " this isn't over yet" face before briskly walking to the office.

Getting into the office,I see her reading a file and she looked at me immediately the door came opened.

"You never told me you had a sister and that your sister was fighting for her life in the hospital"

Okay what? How did she even know that?  I made sure never to speak of my personal issues at work, nobody knew I had a sister, well maybe just Rosie but even Rosie doesn't know she is at the hospital, nobody does.

" I don't understand ma"

" You have a sister Kaavia and she is dying slowly and to you couldn't tell me about it? I thought I tried my best to be opened to you so you could trust me like I trust you?"

Mrs kings has actually been very opened to me and yes she trusts me with practically every thing about work but I can't just go blabbing about personal informations to her.

" I was going to tell you yesterday and ask for a loan for the surgery but you were a bit preoccupied"

" How much?"

" What?"

" How much is for her surgery?"

I don't know were this is going or why she is suddenly interested in my case but maybe this was why I was having that good feeling this morning, maybe, just maybe she would give me the loan.

" Fifty thousand dollars ma"

" Wow, that's a lot of money to loan some one Kaavia, especially when there is no way of pay back"

I knew I didn't have any way of pay back but I could work for her all my life until my debt is paid.

" I could work for you till my debt is paid off"

She just stood up walking close to me and then she put her hand on my shoulder and looked at me straight in the eyes.

" What if you could do something for me and you get paid even more that the surgery fee? What do you think of that?"

Then I got scared,what could I possibly do to earn that much? Maybe she wanted me to kill somebody or carry drugs in my body to Mexico.

"What could that possibly be ma?"

" Be my surrogate".

" Whatttt? She wants you to carry their child? That's crazy Vee, you are not possibly going to do that are you?"

I was home now, narrating my crazy day to Cherry.

 I can't still believe she wants me to carry her child.

" I told her I was going to think about it"

" What's there to think about Vee? This is pure madness, how would you carry a child for 9 months and then give him or her up just like that?"

Those were the same thoughts running in me y head immediately after the conversation with Mrs kings.

What if I get to attached? what if I can't let go? What if I grow to love the child? Its not possible to carry a child in you for a whole 9 months and not get attached to the baby.

I have always wanted a child but not this way, but on the other hand, I get the money for Starr's surgery and extra to start a new life and that's all that matters.

"I know Cherry but what about Starr? She needs that surgery and this is my only chance, I have to do this"

" This is just crazy, Vee I know the offer is juicy but are  you prepared for all of this? Pregnancy is not a joke, it comes with a lot of responsibilities are you sure you want to do this? We could always find another way"

" There is no Time Cherry, this is the fastest route to getting this money"

" We could find another way"

" This is not just about the money Cherry, you had to see Mrs kings face when she was asking for this, she is desperate cherry, she has been nothing but nice to me for 3 years now, she has her flaws but she really wants this and if I could be of help then I would"

" I see you have already made up your mind"

" Yes Cherry, it's a win win, I get what I want but I still get to help her in the process.

" So you really wanna do this?"

"I'm doing it"
