Many people were at the bus station so i couldn't figure out what exactly was happening. Hawkers, drivers, tax- collectors, and kayayes ( normally called girl carriers ) were waiting for traders to help carry their loads while I sat there unaware of the ongoing chaos. There were people shouting that i couldn't decode when the bus pulled to a stand. The rushing of people in and out of the bus were intense and such a pity. A young man was slapped by a middle aged man. I finally got into the bus and found a comfortable seat but not for long i was  chocked by the person who sat besides me. It was so weird to smell the bad odour emanating from my seat-mate. He was my age mate, 14 and on the look at his appearance he was now heading home from school. He also had bad manners that I didn't expect a teenager to have. He spoke boldly without even thinking that he is in a public bus. Watch it! He screamed as one woman in the bus stepped on his shoes. "Don't you have eyes!" Do you have any idea how much these shoes cost". He continued yelling  but to no avail since the woman just walked away without saying sorry to him. "Two strong eagles fighting, who wins ". I said to myself.

Since my house was about 250 kilometers away I needed to take the street tram which will take me directly to my house. But to my surprise the last station was far better than this station. There were people shouting and running after this man. He looked quite familiar, i gasped and said "Wait, is that Uncle Thompson? What has he done this time around". I asked myself. My Uncle is a short-bad tempered man with a long bear which is even capable of sweeping the floor. To add to his despicable personalities, he is also a thief and has been in the police custody numerously but there's no inexorable in his behaviour. Uncle Thompson has a small family of six, his wife Mrs Kiki Greek, his only son Bernard and his four daughters. Sometimes, we can also say like father like son when we talk about Bernard. He is an oppressor in school and he has no respect for elders, not even for his mother or four elderly sisters. His father and him  are natural thieves. I think is by genetic. Even sometimes,  I ask my parents how they are related to a man like that. Back to the criminal scene, the shouting and chasing of my uncle was definitely because he has embezzled  something. But this time, it was so extreme. The gathering of people around him wasn't usual.

"Finally we have caught you in the act". The policeman said, when he showed up from nowhere. I interfered not since this is not his first time of stealing. Some of his friends, he normally hangs out with, were also there sharing hypocritical tears. He was later taken away by the police. Five minutes later came the tram which wasn't fully occupied. Fear was written all over my face at the moment i saw the ticket controller so I hastily checked my wallet, if my monthly ticket was in and luckily for me everything was in touch and for others not. Those who didn't have theirs began to roaming  about, going to the washroom, pretending to be asleep and many others while others were ready to accept their fate like the gentleman i sat behind. Shortly before the ticket controller reached our seat, an emergency announcement was made public which made the ticket controller went off duty. The sound of relief was so loud when the checkers went back. What a day! The gentleman said. Sorry, please, are you having a bad day? I questioned him. He replied "no son is the opposite of what you said. You see i woke up this morning feeling stressed out, thinking about what my family and i are going to eat since i recently lost my job and nearly lost my son too, whom we always depend on had an accident a month ago. As i was  thinking this morning, i got a call from the lottery department saying i have won the weekly draw of 20,000 dollars. I wasn't delighted than when i heard  my son is healthy again and will be discharged today. And right now, before taking this tram i was going to book a ticket from the automatic maschine but when i got there i found a free ticket already booked on the floor. I'm not holding the ticket doesn't mean i don't have one, he said. Here it is. I'm currently going to the hospital to see my son".

I was deeply ashamed after hearing his words. I thought he had no ticket but he has. What a disgraceful act to me.  We happily said good bye to each other before the man alighted at the fourth bus stop as I also alighted the next bus stop ahead. I hardly got out from the tram because there was a fight between two women at the front door of the bus. Why are they fighting? I inquired myself. The situation wasn't even important. One of the women mistakenly took the other one's seat when the other woman went to the washroom during the checking of the tickets. She obviously didn't have any ticket. Minutes later, they moved out of the way by the help of the driver. I was relieved when i finally got home. My house is located along side the road. Although it is easy to get home but the noise caused by the moving trams make it harder for us, the people residing there. Sometimes the noise becomes so extreme as that of an earthquake but in winter not. It is a period of enjoyment because the noises caused by the trams are decreased by the falling snows .
