My eyes shot open as soon as my phone rang for the fifth time tonight. It's only three in the morning and who needs me this much to call me in the middle of my sleep? I picked up my phone, but it said unknown caller. Whoever this is has to be someone I know if they know my number.
" Hello?" I said, but all I got was static. Oh, they like playing games. I hung up and looked over to Scarlette sleeping peacefully next to me. A message popped up and I clicked on it. It gave me an address and threatened me something would happen soon. I turned my phone over and laid back down.
Not even a minute later my phone started to ring. I answered once again. " Stop calling my fucking phone to whoever is on the other side of this line," I said about to hang up again. " I suggest you don't do that, Malakai. You may not remember me, but I sure do remember you. Now if you don't follow the directions I sent you I promise you the safety of your wife, it won't be safe for her anymore. Soon enough I will come for her," The voice which was distorted through the phone. I hung up and silently slid out of bed hoping not to wake Scarlette up.
I put some clothes on and grabbed my phone and keys. I headed downstairs and to my car, As soon as I got in the car I looked at the directions to the address this person had sent. I put the address into my GPS and started to head in this direction.
The location that it has given me isn't as far as I thought it was. It might be something so simple and someone is playing a game, but some things aren't that easy and people will take what they can get from you. I parked in front of the apartment complex it has led me to. I received another message from the unknown number giving me directions to the apartment itself.
I guess I will be meeting whoever is a part of this nonsense. I really should have ignored all the calls, but something in my mind was telling me to pick up the call and follow every direct order. Something about Scarlette's safety kind of threw me off even though I know I can protect her and she is protected by many of my guards at all times. She doesn't know but I do have guards follow her everywhere she goes at all times. I like to pretend like I don't know where she is, but my guards keep me updated about her.
Apartment 285
I knocked on the door, but the door opened by itself. I guess they left it unlocked just for me. I didn't say anything because I knew whoever it was expecting me to just walk in. " Drop the gun and all other weapons," A woman's voice said from around the corner. I rolled my eyes and did as I was told. I slid my weapons down the hall and a woman who looked so familiar walked down the hall gathering my weapons.
She threw a signal and the door slammed shut behind me. It was some other men. I should have known she wouldn't be alone. They grabbed me and led me to the living room. " Let it go," She said. " Have a seat, Malakai," She spoke softly, but deep down I know this woman is evil, I can feel it.
