i double checked that all of my bags were packed to go to kentucky to meet jack's parents. im so nervous, me and jack have been together for a year so its time . when i got out of my nightly shower, i facetimed jack to see when i should go to his house. "hey baby" i said when he picked up
"hey bae" he smiled lightly "what time do you want me to come to your house" i asked "you could come now. i'm getting chipotle, you want some?" he asked "yes please, i'll see you later, i love you" i said " see you, i love you more" he said hanging up. as i put my duffle bag on my shoulder.
i turned off all the lights to my apartment and locked the door. i got my benz out of the parking garage and started heading to jack's apartment. we pulled up around the same time. i got there before him by like 10 minutes. i was laying in his room waiting for him as i heard the door open.
he came into the room "were you speeding down 95? how you get here so fast?" he asked laughing making me giggle a lil bit while he was putting down the chipotle bag. we ate our food and jack went into the shower as i just relaxed in his bed. as urban walked in
"yo, maiya what time are we waking up for the airport?" he asked "4 and our flights for 7 and we gotta be at the airport by 5" i said "thanks" he said walking out. after a couple more minutes of scrolling through instagram jack came out of the bathroom with a towel rapped around his waist looking fine as hell.
he laid down and i laid my head on his chest beginning to drift off to sleep.i woke up to an alarm and i was laying on my side with jacks arms around me. my bonnet was damn near off my head. "jack, get up, we gotta wake up" i said playing with his curls "im up" he said kissing my cheek.
i got in the shower first then jack. then everybody got all of their stuff together and the time was 4:28 we went to go pick up clay and drove to the airport and checked in on everything and waited at the gate. i had on a sweatsuit and a black la dodgers cap. i rested my head on jacks shoulder

we were waiting outside for jacks mom "god, im neverous" i said " dont be i gotchu" he kissed my forehead "gross." clay said chuckling with urban "yall aint shit" i laughed with them. "come on yall, shes here." he said as i take a deep breath. she got out of the car to help us with our bags.
everyone stood there as she greeted me first to see how this was gonna play out. " hi, so you're maia? i've heard so much about you. It's so nice to finally meet you, you can call me mom, if you'd like. you're so beautiful" she smiled hugging me.
"hi! im so happy to meet you too. i'm so excited to be here" i smiled. jack, clay, and urban hugged her as well. we put our bags in the car. i sat in the middle between jack and urban.
jack laid his head on my shoulder. as we rode to his childhood home. i shook him when we pulled up. "jack, baby, wake up" i said. we got out the car and went into the house
we went in and put our bags in jacks childhood room. "brian, they're here" jacks mom yelled. a few seconds jacks dad came out from the hallway.
"hey y'all, hey sons, i missed y'all" jack and clay hugged their dad
"urban! it's good to see you again" he smiles hugging urban. "hi maia! i've heard so much about you. how are you doing?" he asked "hi, im doing really good, im excited to be here. it's so amazing to meet you" i said smiling. he was a really cool guy "i know, all of yall are tired so yall can go into jacks old room and get some sleep and we'll eat later" he offered
"that sounds nice but i don't wanna throw off y'all's day" i said "dont worry we got nothing to do all day, so, whatever y'all kids wanna do that's what we're doing." he said as i smiled as jack directed me to his old room
"pass me your bag, baby, i got it" he said as i changed my clothes and laid down. "your parents are so nice. i don't know why i was so nervous to meet them" i said "see you were psyching yourself out" he said with his hand on my back rubbing it in circles.
we took a two hour nap. i was woken up by jack shaking me "baby get up we gotta eat" he said. i opened my eyes as i got up stretching and brushed my teeth. i went out to the dining room.
"yall are up! go sit down to eat" his mom said.
i sat down next to jack on my right and his mom on my left. his dad was at the head of the table and clay and urban were sitting across from me and jack. jacks mom made spaghetti.
"so how did y'all meet? jack never told me" she glanced over at jack before looking back at me "jack dmd me on instagram and we talked for a moth and met up and became best friends and july of last year we started dating"
"where are you from again?" she asked "i was born in baltimore and i moved to atlanta when i was 18 for college and been there since. but i'm trinidadian." (yktv 🇹🇹🇹🇹)
we continued to talk and laugh. "yours definitely in the family now! you're a harlow now!" jacks dad said smiling. i'm so happy they like me "aw im honored" i said smiling back. "when we're done eating everybody get in the truck and let's go for a drive to show maia around louisville" he said
we all go in the car after eating i was sitting in the back at the right window. i was so interested in seeing what made this person i love so much. i'm growing a love for the city.
