Five's POV:

"DOES THAT MEAN YOU GIVE up?" I furrow my brows as I look at the love of my life, not sure if I want to hear the answer.

"I guess so," Zero replies, looking down.

I stay silent as I think. I stand up before pacing back and forth. Zero opens her mouth to say something but ends up staying silent as I continue to pace.

I can't give up.

I run a hand through my hair before looking at her. "Well, I don't want to give up. We're so close, Z! So close to getting what we want!" I stress, taking a few steps closer to her. "Please. Don't give up on me, Z. I need you." I crouch down in front of her as I take her small cold hands in mine. "I can't do this without you."

She stays silent as I look at her with pleading eyes. She brushes some hair away from my eyes as I see her eyes start to water. "It's too much, Five," She whispers faintly.

Her voice was so quiet but still heard those four words loud and clear. I feel a tear unwillingly glide down my cheekbone. I slowly stand, keeping my expression blank. "So, that's it. You're done?" I ask, looking down at her.

She nods sadly, her eyes watering.

"You're willing to let go of all the work we've put into this? For the past thirteen years?" I furrow my brows as I process what she's saying as another tear falls.

"Well, the world is already over. What else do I have to lose?" She shrugs, masking her sadness with anger.

Doing the same, I yell in frustration as I glare at her. "ME! You have me to lose!"

She stares at me in shock before taking a deep breath. She stands as well before quietly replying. "Do I?"

We look at each other with watery eyes, knowing that whatever the other says next will change our lives forever.

I look down and away as I speak, knowing that my words will hurt. "No... I guess not. Not anymore."

We fall silent. An uneasy feeling takes over me as I realize what I just said. I look up at her with wide eyes as she stares at the ground with tears running down her face.

Her facial expression suddenly changes. I can't tell how she's feeling right now with the emotionless face she now has. She quickly wipes her tears before pacing to a bag before she starts packing. She picks up Delores, giving her a peck on the head before putting her in the bag.

I stand still and watch her, unable to move as my worst nightmare comes true. I hate myself for being the one to make her feel like this.

Grabbing a few more things, Zero shoves them in the bag before leaving.

She's gone. And I don't think she's going to be coming back this time.

I gained control of my body again. As if on instinct, I follow after her. Outside the harsh winds are making small objects fly around. I ducked as a street sign almost hit me.

"ZERO!" I call out for her, seeing her walking away from me. I run, trying to catch up. The sun is slowly going down and the wind is getting colder. "ZERO!" I called for her again.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" She yells back, using her powers to push me back, making me fall back on my ass.

I teleport in front of her, placing a hand on each of her arms. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I didn't mean that. Please. Please come back. I'm sorry, Z. Let's talk about this," I ramble desperately.
