It has been a week since they had returned from their mission in the Land of Waves, and now Naruto finds himself looking over his little apartment anxiously, Kakashi still hasn't helped with completely cleaning the vandalism from his apartment walls, front door and especially his bedroom. With the Chunin exams, merely a day or so away, it means Gaara could be coming into the village any time now , hell..he might even already be here, and he would just die of embarrassment if Gaara ever came to his apartment and saw this...he knows Gaara would probably understand and wouldn't judge, but still.

He was hoping to get some cleaning done after they came back home, but since they have been back it has been nothing but constant D-ranked missions again, and by the time he got home after training with Kurama he was too tired to do anything, so here they stay. He sighs as he waits for his ramen to cook, he has been sitting at his dining table, looking at one of his new Fūinjutsu books, he needed to improve, and although he was getting better at his mothers Jutsu 'Adamantine Chains' he hasn't mastered it, he can only do two chains, and he can only use the jutsu for 5 minutes. There was so many different jutsu's to choose from though, so it was hard to pick his next one to try to master.

With help from Kurama, he had managed to progress relatively quickly, it seems that he has a knack for it like his parents did. Kurama had also made good on his word about teaching him how to control some of Kurama's chakra. So far he can still stay in control when the chakra cloaks over him, however, Kurama says that he wasn't ready to have more than one tail yet, he said that his will isn't strong enough for that and that his body wouldn't be able to take the destructive force of his chakra. Kurama also warned that since he has better access to his chakra, his emotional state could manifest the foxes chakra all on it's own, so he needed to try to learn restraint...especially when it came to his temper.

"I think your ramen would be done by now kid.." Kurama says interrupting his thoughts.

"Oh! Right..thanks Kurama" he says as he tries to shake out of his thoughts and finally starts eating his ramen.

"You're nervous about meeting that kid aren't you...you better not show him that, you're suppose to show him that your not afraid of him aren't you?" Kurama says and would of raised an eyebrow if he could.

"It's not that I'm afraid of him...it's more like..what if he doesn't like me? " he asks softly.

"Hm?? Why wouldn't he like you kid? if he hasn't liked you so far he wouldn't have replied to your letters..." Kurama says.

"Yeah but meeting in person is something completely different, he wants me to prove to him that I really want to be friends with him, which I do! but to prove to him that there was another way to live...I couldn't even convince Haku at all, and he was gentle, not someone that has psychotic tendencies." he explains.

"Listen kid, just be your true self with him, you assured him many times that you weren't afraid of him, that you wanted to be friends with someone like him, you can't back out now... trust me kid, this is probably just first time jitters..and plus...your crush on the guy probably doesn't help the situation either.." Kurama advises.

"Yeah maybe you're right.." he says, digging into his ramen so he didn't have to speak anymore.

"Huh!? Whats this? Naruto Uzumaki didn't deny said crush on the one tailed Jinchuriki!?" Kurama shouts mockingly.

"Ugh oh shut up Kurama and let me eat...I have to meet up with my team mates after this" he groans at the fox.

"Tsk, fine".

                 . . .

Walking up the main street and finally making his way towards one of the training grounds to meet up with Sasuke and Sakura, the hustle and bustling of the villagers could be heard all around him, however, that also meant putting up with the villagers usual routine with him, like glaring, purposely keeping away from him, gossip about him loudly as if he couldn't hear anything, a few name calls here and there...He sighs as he turns the corner and decides to cut through the mostly deserted alley ways instead, like he usually does. It may take a little longer but who really cares. Suddenly, something on the ground in front of him catches his eyes, there was a rectangular box being used for a very poor attempt at a disguise, and as the said disguise started following him after he passed by it, he knew it could only be one person, or three in some cases.
