Chapter 64: The Jinchuriki of the Cat!

Naruto P.O.V

They were just able to make their way back to the treehouse before it got too dark. After their lunch together, they had asked the waiter if he knew of any places that sold balloons and although the waiter seemed confused, he had been more than happy to help. Now, he successfully holds a massive bag of pre-blown balloons, and a small little pack of unblown ones. This should hopefully be plenty, for now at least...it's not like he has to worry too much about money now.

He looks at his frog wallet in relief, as Gaara takes them both across the river on his sand cloud. His wallet though a bit smaller than earlier due to the cost of everything he spent today, was still an impressive size, he has to try and make use of this money carefully...really try to think of what they really need in terms of the alliance and survival.

"Naruto...you can get off now...we made it over.." Gaara states looking back at him expectantly.

"Oh! Sorry!" he apologises, finally realising that Gaara was waiting for him to hop off the floating mass of sand. He jumps down with ease making sure not to spill his bag of newly obtained training equipment...if you could call balloons equipment that is..."let's quickly get inside, it's gotten a bit too late for me to train anyway, plus I want to put Mr Froggy somewhere safe ya know!" he says as he watches Gaara's sand retreat back into his gourd.

"The dark hasn't stopped you from training at night before...but yes...that would be wise...too many people have seen you with it today, you were lucky we didn't get robbed..."Gaara says all but deadpanning him.

"Oh come on...as if anyone could rob the two of us...you alone can intimidate anyone with just a look...like that glare you gave that poor woman at the lottery pop-up" he smirks.

"Hn..I suppose...but I would rather avoid the hassle..." Gaara explains.

"Oh? I would of thought you wouldn't mind getting your hands dirty...there is nothing wrong with a bit of a tussle every now and then...even I'm getting antsy about how peaceful it's been for us lately...it almost feels like something is just around the corner...especially with how great today was...I'm not normally this lucky ya know...I can't help but think that something bad is going to happen soon...though I could just be overthinking things" he explains.

"You're right...I normally don't mind getting my hands dirty, but we are currently in a situation where we have to lie low...I am not without restraint Naruto...but I do get what you're saying...yes...the Shukaku has been antsy and bored...and a bored Shukaku is often hard to deal with...you're lucky you only have to put up with Kurama's teasing...Shukaku just wants me to hurry up and kill something..."

"Heh...yeah true...couldn't you placate Shukaku by hunting animals or something? I mean, it's no human being screaming in terror, but you and Shukaku would still get to have your fun, and we get food in the end, food we can cook an eat!" he suggests.

"Hmm....perhaps...I still have my responsibility to look for the three tails after all and to keep up surveillance...other than the night watch, I hadn't made much of a start..." Gaara explains as they began making their way up the tree.

"Hmmm I still don't know how I feel about you going off on your own...not that I doubt your skills or anything but..." he worries for the redhead next to him, whilst making sure the opening of the bag was sealed shut tightly to keep from spilling its contents. Suddenly, a thought struck him...

"Hey! I know! What if I try and teach you the shadow clone Jutsu! That way you don't have to go anywhere if you don't want to! The clones can do all the work for you! Then when they are done you get all their memories!" he sugguests to his friend as they finally make it to the first level of the tree house, gaining their footing before making their way up the stairs.
